Pros: Excellent con artists who have never been exposed to the media! Cons: Mislead consumers by holding a (fake) "reservation."
I called the U-Haul reservation number (1-800-468-4285) the beginning of September to reserve a 14’ truck for my in-town move scheduled for September 30, 2000. I was given a reservation number of XXXXXXX. I received a call back several days later from...

Pros: Advertised as inexpensive, easy to get (at least in my case) Cons: Lots of extra charges, old, decaying, unsafe vehicles.
In the spring of 2000, I took the home ownership plunge by purchasing a condo. I had lived in a small, one bedroom apartment, so I didn't have that many things. Actually, aside from my waterbed, my computer setup consisted of more furniture than the rest...

Pros: More diesels Cons: Dirty, expensive, unreliable, and customer service.
I had the unfortunate chance to utilize the u-haul system recently. I will never do it again. I had used u-haul two other times before. Those were trailer rentals though. One went fairly well. The other left myself and wife hanging in Raleigh, NC for...

Pros: Better than the alternatives, good dealer experience Cons: Uncertain pickup points, stall
Summary:
U-Haul was the only cost-effective way to move a tractor and several hobby farming implements across the country from a Gulf Island to Eastern Ontario.
We chose U-Haul after eliminating all other alternatives. Trucking the...

Pros: was the only oneway rental in town Cons: HORROR RIDE - Backward company - obviously can''t maintain their trucks
THIS IS A "BRIEF"!
The truck that was rented to us broke down (major) 3 times (minor )1 time ... we were exposed to very dangerous situations - health and traffic.
Even after asking each "repair representative" to check over the truck,...

Pros: relatively inexpensive Cons: check your order before you leave the lot
I've used U-Haul for three moves, to date. My wife and I are planning to make our next move to a house, but we don't plan to do it for a couple of years and we feel that when you move into a house, you're grown up enough to let someone else do all the...

Pros: different sizes of trucks, able to leave it at destination Cons: bad customer service, trucks not taken care of
I've only rented moving trucks a few times, a couple with U-Haul and one with another company. Let me just say that the one time we went with a different company was the easiest move I have ever made!
Both of the times that we rented with...

Pros: Lots of room in the back Cons: Uncomfortable, noisy truck
Recently a co-worker and I had to move some office equipment to one of your company offices 500 miles away, in Nashville, TN. We rented a 14 foot U-Haul truck with a Ford F-350 front end. The truck had about 57k miles on it, and was pretty clean on the...

Pros: Price??? Cons: Unreliable service and trucks
In the last three years I had to use U-Haul service two times. Poor me! My experience with U-Haul trucks and services resembles a nightmare when you'd like to wake up and can not. The first time I came to U-Haul not knowing any better. I reserved a truck...

Pros: I did not go to jail Cons: every thing else
I still cannot believe my recent experience with U-haul. I was moving from Orange Park, FL to St Augustine, FL which is about 45 miles away. Have a lot of stuff and I knew that I was going to need to make 2 trips in 26’ truck. The plan was to pick it...

Pros: When you need a truck they're there and they're not too expensive. Cons: Old, tired trucks with worn-out everything
It must be that at one time U-Haul was the best; you don't get to be an enormous, ubiquitous franchise organization without doing something right. But that's history and somewhere along the way the wheels fell off, leaving an organization as tired and...

Pros: cheap Cons: dishonest, deceitful reservation policy, rude customer service, poorly maintained trucks
I've had the unfortunate experience of using U-Haul and dealing with their customer service and I'm hoping anyone who reads this can learn from my experience.
I was moving from Jersey City to Elizabeth NJ and needed a small truck. Without the...

Pros: Plentiful locations, top-of-mind awareness in their field. Corporate helpful with complaints. Cons: Poor dealer service, beat-up equipment, lines, lines lines.
With a relocation from Washington to California recently, we've spent our share of time in-line, in-cab, and in the box of U-haul facilities and equipment.
With the exception of the dealer in our originating location of Lacey Wash., the other...

Pros: I am still alive Cons: I had to pay $295 dollars in fines & the truck burned on me.
I have a very short and simple review to write today. It is about a U Haul truck rental that I had 10 months ago, going from Toledo to Columbus, Ohio. A distance of about 150 miles. I have to admit that for the most part, the reservations process went...
