Pros: Programmable, needs less grounds, Pause and Pour Cons: Takes a while to make a pot
I had a great coffee maker that stopped working after 10 years. When it came time to replace it, I decided to buy the Black & Decker Spacemaker. The main reason I wanted this coffee maker was that it was programmable and was affordable.
Pros: It's programmable and it DOES save space on our counter-top. Cons: The water container leaks and the filter basket overflows.
When we moved into our new house, we purchased this product because our counter space was fairly limited. We went to the store and searched for the best deal and what would work the best in our situation. We also chose this because of it's name. We...
Pros: Shuts off automatically after two hours!Saves space on countertops! Cons: White filter basket stains from coffee! Can be difficult to mount under cabinet
This CoffeeMaker is great as far as the timer features are concerned. It shuts off automatically after two hours and you can pour a cup of coffee while it is still brewing. This model does feature a timer clock so that you can program the time you would...
Pros: Has lasted more than 6 years without trouble; broke recently; repaired and it's *still* going. Cons: It is larger than other units, yet mine mounted under the cabinet without problem.
This is a story that just might assist those who have a Black and Decker ODC 325 Spacemaker coffee maker that has begun leaking water out the bottom of the unit. We bought the product for all the common reasons already expressed on this forum. Nuf ...
Pros: Saves counter space. Cons: Water reservoir leaks. Carafe drips when pouring.
I thought I was really going to love this spacemaker coffeemaker, but after experiencing two water reservoirs that cracked and began leaking, I changed my mind. At least a half cup of the water will leak out on to the counter while the coffee is...
Pros: Fits under counter. Easy to fill. Cons: Poorly designed carafe. Coffee doesn't stay hot. Pouring is too restricted.
I thought it was a good deal. But the first cup of coffee from it proved I was in trouble. The carafe pours ridiculously slowly. I'm serious. If you have neck and shoulder problems (Like I have) you'll quickly switch to taking the top off the ...
Pros: Timer, slick look Cons: Quality, cost of constant replacement.
We've had 2 of these coffee makers in the last 3 years - These things just seem to be designed to out last the warranty and then die. Both died of the exact same causes, the hot plate died. We contacted customer service and explained the situation, but they recommended that we simply buy another. Great advise. Black and Decker customer service is doing no service to their customers.
This is a shame, our original Spacemaker was so reliable but.. No more. It appears to me that since Black and Decker was sold, all of their products have gone this route. Too bad.
Replacing great with not so good by hatchetfan ,Apr 29 '05
Pros: Attractive--makes coffee quickly Cons: Leaks coffee--the LCD read out is small and impractical
I bought my space-saver to replace the 2nd space-saver when my hard water had taken its toll, I have always liked the product and the convenience of having it up off my counter, the first and 2nd makers I was able to hang on the same brackets which made my life much simpler. When I bought the 3rd I found that the brackets had changed, which happens, I had my doubts about the metal carafe but thought I'd give it a try since I trusted the product and company. I was very disappointed the carafe leaks every time a great deal much of my coffee winds up on the counter, It is still sitting on the counter since I couldn't install it on same brackets and it is really aggravating I plan to replace it as soon as I can afford to.
Pros: Saves space. Water fill without pulling out the entire coffee maker. Cons: Died after 18 months. It is a little slow.
We purchased this coffee maker about 18 months ago. It worked perfectly until today. We like that it mounts. You can fill the water without pulling out the entire unit. But it died.
WILL LAST A YEAR IF YOU ARE LUCKY. by bbsmore ,Nov 21 '04
Pros: I like the auto program to make my coffee while I am sleeping. Cons: Can be very messy if you are not careful with the water bin.
I purchased a ODC 325 and it lasted 11 months. I called Black and Decker customer service and they sent me a new one because of the warranty. The new (free) one lasted 13 months. They have not perfected this product and continue to sell it.
We bought for features and spacemaker, did not mount but fits well on counter and saves space. The water container had some leakage almost from day one. The filter basket easily stained and stains would not wash out. Very disappointed in the fact that it died so soon (life was about 19 months). New model is ODC400, has stainless insulated carafe, will buy for features not for quality and hope life is longer. Plan to contact customer service at Black and Decker about the quality of the ODC325.
Bought for RV because of stainless carafe. Hot plate wasn't designed to get hot, therefore coffee gets cold in 10 minutes! Designed to stay hot in carafe, but DOES NOT!!
