Pros: grinds coffee beans & brews a pot of coffee in one unit Cons: clean up
I'm a bean freak. I love coffee and I love it in whole bean form. I keep a 2 pound bag of Starbuck's coffee beans in my refrigerator. Every morning I would faithfully grind the beans and immediately deposit them in my coffeemaker for the freshest ...
Pros: Can grind and brew whole beans or use pre-ground, adjust temp. of coffee Cons: More to clean, need cone filters (more expensive)
After working the midnight shift for 22 years, I would like to say that I am a connoisseur of fine coffee. Unfortunately I can't, as I don't think stumbling to the coffee pot, pouring a cup and throwing in my face to wake up, qualifies.
Pros: Cone filter, Clock and timer option, coffee bar flavor system. Cons: Big, not very durable, complex controls.
I was using a standard coffee maker with the old style filters throughout my college years and I was getting pretty sick of it. I knew I needed a cone filter compatible coffee maker but I did not know what model. So after about 6 months of looking at ...
Pros: packed with advanced features. Cons: very hard to clean, wastes coffee grounds because of large ground size
Where it all began
Coffee to me is one of the few true pleasures in life. Who could guess that a dark brown liquid could bring so much joy? When we get our daily cup of coffee, the innocuous looking cup downplays what is actually...
Pros: Makes good coffee, easy to use Cons: Messy, messy cleanup
I'm not a coffee snob. But I do enjoy a good cup of joe from freshly smashed beans. And I like it to be done for me when I wake up. So my wife let me purchase the Cuisinart Grind 'n Brew Coffee Maker a few years ago and it has served me ...
Pros: Makes a perfect cup of coffee using fresh beans, a pause and brew that works, a lid that minimizes air flow for a better cup of coffee Cons: Yeah, there are more parts to clean
Over a year ago, my husband and I decided to look into these grind and brew machines. At the time they were running about $250 and we were told that the price would come down eventually, all things new in the electronics world usually do. I hungered...
Pros: A single step to a fine cup o' joe Cons: You'll get down with the sound
Somewhere in a box at home there's a cartoon drawn by my sister depicting me standing butt naked in my front yard while my house burns clasping my coffee maker in a manner that just covers my "area". The word bubble over my head reads,...
Pros: Pleasing aroma and pretty compact despite all its functions. Cons: Loud and unreliable operation
The Cuisinart Coffee Bar 10-Cup Automatic Grind and Brew did not provide the quality and reliability I would expect from a High-End Small Appliances manufacturer. Let me tell how about my experience with the Grind and Brew.
Pros: Great tasting coffee all ready for you in the morning, simple operation Cons: Must be clean and dry before each use
For years, I've used a Bodum French press-style coffee maker. So my morning routine was: boil water, grind beans, put grounds in coffee maker, pour in water, wait five minutes, press down filter, pour coffee, wake up. Not a huge hassle, but enough that...
Pros: Easy to use, great cup of coffee Cons: Update: Poor Quality! Clean up can irritate, No thermos, no espresso :)
Update: Unfortunately I have to downgrade my review due to poor quality. The original Cuisinart I had worked so well that after about 5 years I replaced it with a new one (I had broken the pot and water damage had caused the timer to ...
Pros: Attractive, well designed, GRINDS AND THEN BREWS YOUR COFFEE!!!many nice features, very durable, YUMMY COFFEE!!!!! Cons: fragile "Brew Pause" mechanism can break, machine is tall, maybe too tall.
I Love this coffee maker. I have a black one. We've never had a problem with it. Well, actually it just broke yesterday, but only a little bit,(after being used HARD for almost 3 years) and yet, I still love it.
The part the broke is the little...
Pros: Makes excellent coffee - ground fresh for you from whole beans every morning. Cons: Lots of pieces to wash, will wear out faster than less-complicated coffee makers.
If you use excellent beans and good, filtered water, this coffee machine will make you a sublime and delicious cup of coffee day after day. It grinds the beans inside the machine and then immediately makes coffee from the fresh ground ...
Pros: attractive design brews whole bean and/or pre ground coffee feature packed excellent warranty when purchased new Cons: none as of this review date 1/31/2009 possible top lid latching failure with careless use
I am not a coffee snob but I am pretty picky when it comes to a good cup of joe, it has to come across at the right strength not bitter and with a good aroma. I have suffered through the years with mediocre coffee brewed through the likes of many a Mr. ...
Pros: Self contained, easy to use, lots of features. Cons: Lots of complex cleaning for daily use, plastic components that wear quickly.
At first it seems the answer to your prayers, it has everything! Youre first cup of coffee tastes great! You imagine setting the program timer and waking up every day to a perfect cup of coffee. Six months later youre looking for a large hammer to...
Pros: Grinds beans AND brews with a timer, and Cusinart customer service is GREAT. Cons: Flavor selector feature makes weak coffee, somewhat hard to clean.
OK, so it's not that big a deal to have to grind the coffee beans yourself, but this one does it FOR you on a timer! So instead of having to grind the beans the night before and letting the ground coffee sit out all night so the coffee will be ready when...
Pros: Great coffee - no bitterness, timer, warming plate heat control, good value. Cons: More parts to clean that a standard brewer, large footprint and awkward shape
I am a real coffee lover and have been searching for years for a coffeemaker that can deliver a (near) Starbucks level brew at home. However, I am also somewhat frugal ;-) and never wanted to re-mortgage the house to buy a high end brewer. When my last ...
Pros: Does most everything for you, and makes good coffee Cons: You might have to watch that lockdown clip, because it could be broken and won't run without locking it down on top. And it doesn't wash my coffee cup for me :-(
I was recently looking to get a coffee machine that they were rating in here top of the line at $199. However, I found this machine at Sams Club for $79.95. At there website it goes for $179.95. Am I glad I found this little deal, it makes coffee...
Pros: Makes great tasting coffee and is easy to use. Cons: Not easy to make multiple pots of coffee.
WARNING! You will want a daily cup of coffee after using the Cuisinart DGB-300. We were not drinking coffee everyday or even weekly before we got the Cuisinart. I preferred fresh ground coffee and did not like having to grind the beans before...
Pros: Fresh ground coffee, large capacity and good quality construction. Cons: Poor design, large footprint, hard to clean, noisy, inefficient, weak coffee.
I love my sister dearly for she is very thoughtful and giving. Therefore I continue to try and improve this particular gift which I treasure. But if I had bought this coffee maker myself I would have taken it back.
Pros: Only product on the market to grind and brew in one step Cons: It is prone to breakage due to moving parts
I have used my Cuisinart Coffee Bar for about three years. Over the past three years this product has performed well but I have experienced a number of malfunctions putting it out of business for weeks at a time. In the end, I still love my Coffee Bar....
Pros: Elegant and sleek looking Cons: Anemic coffee, too many parts to clean, too many features
Having only recently been a coffee-lover (about 8 years), I really enjoy a fresh brewed cup from only the freshest beans. I try to stay away from too many bells and whistles in any product that I buy - more things that can and will break.
Pros: Lots of features, great coffee, great warranty, great price from Kohl's Cons: Why so aerodynamic? Does it plan to fly? Also, odd-shaped carafe
UPDATED AFTER A YEAR AND A HALF -- SEE BELOW! Are you tired of reading short reviews, obviously penned by someone who had a preconceived notion of what a product would be like, bought the product, took it home, used it, and found it not to be what ...
Pros: This brews the BEST coffee I have ever had Cons: Takes a good 15 minutes to clean every day
We originally came into contact with this lovely machine through a couple we purchased it for as a wedding gift. After two weeks of receiving it, they sent us a thank you card raving about how great their coffee was, better than anything at any of the...
Pros: Grinds and brews great-tasting coffee in one machine. Cons: Poorly designed plastic hinges/spring mechanisms
I received the Cuisinart DBG-300BK as a holiday gift in December 2007. Having used the machine for a month, I am overall very satisfied with its performance, but there are a few areas which need improvement. OVERALL: The coffeemaker is only ...
Pros: Makes a great pot of coffee. Has an efficient self-clean feature. Holds the coffee at the temperature you prefer. Cons: High-Maintenence. It is a tedious process to clean, dry, and reassemble the pot to simply make a second pot of coffee.
Two years ago we remodeled our aging kitchen. When I emptied my old cupboards and cabinets I was dismayed at the sorry lot of small appliances I had accumulated over the years. Most of them had seen better days, MUCH better days. I discarded a few,...
Pros: Simple to use, easy to clean, makes an exquisite cup of coffee, very classy-looking. Cons: A bit expensive, although you'll find it's worth it.
Over the years, I have become something of a coffee snob. I used to believe that coffee was coffee, and bought store-brand coffee all the time. Then I tried Starbucks coffee, and soon I was buying the bags of gourmet coffee, already ground. Then I...
Pros: Great taste, great smell, perfect cup of coffee Cons: none
The Cuisinart Grind and Brew coffee maker is a coffee lover's dream come true. As all coffee lovers know, there is nothing like a cup of coffee made from freshly ground beans. Although this coffee maker is packed with features the best part of this...
Pros: Steam-free, good coffee Cons: Cumbersome clean-up
We had a gift certificate from a catalog company and the only product my wife and I could agree on was this coffee maker. Our old Braun had run its course and become an annoying, noisy dribbler. We've had this deluxe Cuisinart for a few months now. So...
Pros: Fresh cup of coffee every time Cons: carafe leaks
My husband and I are big coffee drinkers. Therefore, we have gone through several different coffee makers, all of them breaking within the first year. Well this one has lasted two so far. The main feature that attracted me to this product was the...
Pros: Efficient all-in-one unit, good brand, advanced features Cons: High price unless on sale, loud, can be messy
My husband drinks more coffee than the average Seattle-ite... and we live in Dallas. He has a cup or two before he leaves the house, buys a cup on the way to work, subsists on it throughout the day, buys a cup on the way home, and then comes close to...
Pros: Two appliances in one, eye catching style Cons: Pain to take apart and clean
I couldn't resist the modern sleek design of the Cuisinart Grind and Brew when I saw it. My first thought when I looked at the model in the store was "this is so cool, but its going to be high maintenance" and I was right. The inside consists...
Pros: combine grinding and brewing, nice styling, good coffee Cons: Tough to maintain. Cleaning may make you think twice about using.
First Look
At first glance, I must have thought this was the coolest machine I had ever scene. It's an attractive machine that promises wonderful things. You only have to add the beans and water and in a few minutes you have fresh...
Pros: Incredible coffee -- and YOU pick the temperature! Cons: Insanely complex programming and cleaning
This coffee-maker is appealing because it has practically every function you might want in a home machine -- it's the floor wax and dessert topping of brewers. It's got an impressive list of features, including a built-in grinding mechanism, a...
Pros: ease of use, great cup of joe Cons: very messy innards, cleanup
If you are like me, you are lazy. Dead lazy. Yet when it comes to coffee I take things very seriously. For a long time I have been using a bean grinder and a french press. One unfortunate day, I dropped my 3rd french press in about 6 months....
Pros: Excellent cup of coffee!! Cons: No control over fineness of grinds/hard to clean
I take my coffee VERY seriously... As a very busy mother/chauffeur of three kids, my three o'clock coffee is like a drug to me. I have always ground my own beans and have searched high and low for the perfect coffeemaker to brew them in. Years ago I...
Pros: Makes excellent coffee Cons: Big, and somewhat "fussy" to clean
For years I wasn't a coffee drinker. However, all of my friends were serious "coffee heads." So, since I was tired of not being able to offer them a cup of coffee when they visited, I bought a little Toshiba all-in-one that ground and brewed...
Pros: stylish, easy to clean, does everything Cons: none
I'd been meaning to buy a coffee maker for some time. However, after looking at places such as Meijers, Target, etc etc, I couldn't find the perfect one. I wanted one fairly cheap, easy to clean, and stylish. Apparently one with all three of the...
Pros: Good coffee, many features to tailor the brewing process to taste, inexpensive Cons: Inconvenient to clean, parts do break
My wife wanted a grind and brew coffee maker for Christmas, and I bought the Cuisinart based on price. At the time, this coffee maker was about $99, and I believe that these days it can be found for cheaper. We lived with it for about a year, before I...
Pros: Fresh ground coffee when you want it Cons: A Daily Cleaning Nightmare
I like coffee. And I need coffee. However, I am NOT one of those coffee afficionados who are like those crazy wine tasters that spit out their "gourmet" beverages. Yet I do like a fresh cup of Joe. That's why I spent the $100 for the Grind...
Pros: Still makes great coffee after almost two years! Cons: Grinder is a bit loud. Heavier cleaning than an ordinary maker.
I am an avid coffee drinker; not particularly a big fan of the stale ground coffee in a can, but rather, I love fresh-roasted coffee beans that have been ground right at home and that brew excellent coffee.
I have long wanted a programmable coffee maker that would also do the grinding so I could have the freshest coffee at exactly the moment I wanted it. I...
Pros: Fresh Coffee waiting for you as you climb out of bed Cons: Keeping the internal parts clean
Laying in bed, barely aware of the sun making its first rays known to the new day, I hear in the distance the sweet sound of gleaming whole coffee beans being ground signifying the start of another glorious day.
Pros: Excellent cup of life nectar, built-in grinder, flow control like coffee houses use. Cons: CLEAN-UP, a bit technical to use
Ok, being a human in the 21st century gives me the typical vices drawn from stress, lack of sleep, and lack of time off. I need a good cigar three times a week, I need a good beer (or 12) after work, and when I wake up, I NEED my coffee before normal...
Pros: Easy to use, great coffee Cons: A bit expensive.. watch for a sale.
My husband had gotten hooked on the taste of fresh ground coffee, but didn't like the hassle of a grinder. I decided he needed a combination grinder and coffee maker. (I'm not a coffee drinker myself, so this was an interesting challenge.)
Pros: Great taste, full service unit, a treat! Cons: None to speak of, parts to rinse off
My aunt and uncle had this model coffee maker, Cuisinart Grind & Brew DGB-300, when I visited them last Fall, and I was so impressed, I asked my mother to consider getting my wife and me one for Christmas. She did!
Okay, it looked a little like...
Pros: Built in grinder Cons: Plastic smell, difficult to program
I got this product as a gift. The first one was great, and we loved it, until it broke after about 2 weeks. After moving the coffee maker from one spot in our kitchen to another, it must have shorted out or something, because when we plugged it in...
Pros: Stylish, couple of good features; the novel lip on the carafe and the adjustable temperature Cons: Weak coffee, expensive, cumbersome clean-up
My husband and I are real coffee lovers. We like strong, aromatic, hot coffee. For several years now we have been grinding our own beans so this pot seemed like the ideal for us. What a mistake!
It makes weak coffee due to the coarse grind of the...
Pros: Brews the freshest cup of coffee available Cons: The cleaning required between uses
I'm not a large quantity coffee drinker, but for the one cup I do have in the morning, I want it to be excellent quality. This machine can do that! Since coffee bean grinders for the home went mainstream about 10 years ago, I've always ground my own...
Pros: Makes a great, freshly gound pot of coffee, many features Cons: let me know when you think of one....
To be honest with you, I was not a coffee drinker. That is until I got this coffee maker for Christmas. I honestly do not have much to compare to as far as other coffee makers, but you need to take a look at this model.
3 reasons have made me...
Pros: grinds beans for you, Cons: makes weak coffee
The first thing that prospective buyers of the Cuisinart Grind and Brew should be aware of is that the coffee it produces will be made one way - Cuisinart's way (which is, in my opinion, rather weak). If you happen to like that, great! If not, there is...
Pros: A great cup of coffee Cons: cleaning all the parts inside
If you like fresh coffee, then the Cuisinart 10 cup automatic grind and brew is the way to go. When this coffee maker came out it was so expensive that we wouldn't get it. We figured, how could this coffee be so good it would make us spend so much money...
Pros: Loaded with features; great tasting coffee Cons: Lots of parts to clean, but worth it
I've had my Cuisinart Grind & Brew coffee maker for several weeks now and I'm loving it!!! For years I had a Bunn coffee maker. I got it mostly because it was fast, but I don't make coffee on weekdays, so I found the water evaporated and became...
Pros: superior flavor Cons: messy and time-consuming to clean
We just purchased this coffeemaker as a Christmas present and have already developed a love/hate relationship with it. My husband and I are coffee fanatics and were extremely interested in a coffeemaker that grinds the coffee directly prior to brewing....
Pros: Perfect for overnight timing a great brew Cons: Clean-up is a major effort
This product came as a gift, and while I never thought I'd grow to like it, I did. I thought it was well-made, but it died after 3.5 years when the blades dulled and then the electrical hookup tanked. Here's my old review: Keep in mind the short...
Pros: Great taste, carafe pours great and have spout cover Cons: Pricey, LOUD, complex, too hi tech for a generally low tech part of the day.
Well if you are familiar with any of my other product reviews you know already that I LOVE coffee! In my household we drink between 2 and 4 pots a day. The coffee must taste rich and not bitter. I am quite picky about the taste and also the way I...
Pros: great coffee grinder and brewer Cons: takes up a lot of room on the counter
My husband is a true coffee lover. He likes to grind his coffee beans right before he makes the pot. he got this coffee maker as a gift for his birthday last week and he is in love!!! He honestly feels like our home has turned into his own private...
Pros: It does everything by itself! Cons: It is a little big and doesn't grind the beans to extra fine.
I got my Cuisinart Automatic Grind And Brew as a gift - actually, my mother passed it on to me because she was really attached to the old Krups one she's had for sixteen years. Her complaint about the Cuisinart G&B is that the grinder doesn't grind...
Pros: All in one, grind and brew Cons: All in one, because of the mess - no easy availability of replacement pots
I purchased this coffeemaker with great expectations. The coffee is no better than any other pot. The ability of this coffeemaker to grind and brew is not a convenience because the parts are very difficult to clean. The coffee grinds stick in a pasty...
Pros: Grinds and brews in one unit. Signals when brewing is finished. Cons: It's a pain to clean.
I'm a coffee snob. I like to grind my own beans and if I could afford the equipment and had the room I would roast them as well. We had a regular pot here at work, but in our quest for a good cup, we either ground the beans ourselves (inconvenient ...
Pros: Makes adequate coffee, has adjustable temperature control and auto off. Cons: Ten cup carafe too small for us, hinges made of plastic will break easily, frequently.

Pros: Has a lot of perks. No grinding coffee each morning! Great warranty. Cons: Must wash often and did overflow a couple of times.
Okay, I have mixed feelings about my Grind N Brew coffeemaker. I purchased this product a year ago because I was tired of grinding my own coffee and I wanted a coffee maker with a timer and auto shutoff. My old coffee maker still works great and I ...
Pros: Customize any feature you want, steamless, makes great coffee Cons: Takes time to clean, top lid very cumbersome to open & add water.

Pros: Great coffee Cons: Cleaning and Noise Complaint
As a college student I consume no less than three cups of coffee each day. I cannot make it to my eight am class without my travel mug filled to the brim with hot coffee. Coffee is what gets me out of bed in the morning and prompts me to ...
Pros: freshly ground and brewed coffee automatically Cons: a pain to clean, broke after less than two years
My parents bought two of these Cuisinart coffee makers around Christmas 2 years ago. They both broke about 4 or 5 months ago. I was really surprised that they both broke around the same time. My parents mailed theirs back and paid about $25, but the...

My wife was looking to replace her old coffee maker, and I was looking for an excuse to spend some money on something that produced better tasting coffee that approached what I would get from good restaurants and coffee chains. We saw the Cuisinart ...
Pros: Adjustable temperature. Turns off after set time so you don't forget. Cons: Grinder reservoir only holds enough beans for a 6 cup pot.
We bought this coffee maker last year. It still works and looks great. If we were going to change anything about it we would make the grinder reservoir big enough to hold enough beans for a full 10 cup pot. Our favorite features are that grinding is self...
I'll admit to being a coffee snob, and this machine appealed to me....enough to spend a c-note on it. We've had it (okay, actually several, as it keeps breaking) for over two years now, and that's plenty of time for an informed opinion. So.... The ...

Pros: Easy to program and use. Less work for freshly ground & brewed coffee. Cons: Nothing I would complain about.

Pros: Brews great coffee, lots of great features. Cons: Hard to clean, breaks down easily.
We received our coffee maker (DGB-300) as a wedding gift in October 2000 and used/cleaned it consistently over the last 2 and a half years. One morning at the end of April 2003, the unit just quit; no display, no functionality.
Pros: Fast brew with adjustable water temperature
Cons: Quarterbacks can't call signals over the grinder's noise.
A year ago, we had a mall gift certificate and found this Cuisinart machine for about forty-five bucks on an after Xmas sale. We wanted the timer and the built-in grinder so we thought we'd give it a try. Our first cup of coffee was quite good and ...
Pros: Great coffee, doubles as a terrifying alarm clock. Cons: clean and DRY before next use!

Pros: Easy cleanup. Noticeably better tasting coffee. No more mess on the counter. Cons: I really can't think of any.
Take it from a skeptic ... I've wanted this thing for a year. But everytime I looked at it, in the store, it looked like a giant pain to clean everyday. I didn't feel up to washing all those parts.
Pros: none Cons: extremely weak and bitter coffee no matter how you make it
Well, the guilty party is the Cuisinart Coffee Maker. Me and my family bought it for my mother for a Christmas present. It was easy to set up and easy to make it work, but it never brewed a descent cup of coffee.
Pros: Grinds coffee beans and makes a fresh pot of coffee on a timer. Cons: Such a pain to wash.
This is probably the best invention since the little coffee grinders that we all have at home. Forget about putting coffee beans into that little grinder, then shaking it up to make sure all the beans are ground, then making a mess all over the counter...
Pros: good flavor, programmable timer Cons: too big, too hard to clean, irregular grinding
We grind beans each time we make a pot of coffee. I chose the Cuisinart Brew and Grind particularly because it has a timer and can grind your morning cup of coffee for you automatically. In theory this is a great combination of features, but after using...
Pros: Features, all-in-one unit Cons: Reliability, Customer Service
I really like this coffee maker, but I would recommend that you do NOT buy it. Mine stopped working after a little over a year, it was still under warranty, but not only did I have to pay $10 to ship it back, but you also have to pay Cuisinart $10 for...
Pros: Looks good Cons: Any liquid into LCD area kills coffe maker, weak & bitter taste

Pros: Perfect cup of coffee Cons: Noise from grinder startles
Our son gave us this coffee maker for Christmas but we never got around to setting it up--it seemed we never took the time--so our daughter-in-law decided to do it for us. Great move--it grinds and brews the coffee just as it claims!

Pros: built in grinder, timer Cons: hard to clean, useless bells & whistles

If you're looking for the perfect cup of coffee in your own home, this is definitely the coffee maker for you. The beans are ground moments before brewing, the brewing process has been very well thought out, and the resulting coffee rivals that...
Pros: Makes a great cup of coffee. Cons: Lots of hassles especially in the clean-up stage. Horrendous noise when grinding.
This "Coffee Bar" is not for everyone. Previous reviews give you all the details so I'll be brief and summarize the pros and cons. We had tried numerous coffee makers but were never very satisfied with the taste so this "automatic grind and brew" seemed...
Pros: Convenient way to have fresh ground coffee Cons: doesn't hold up
When I first bought my Cuisinart coffee grinder/brewer, I thought "Finally I don't have to go through multiple steps to have a great cup of coffee!" I had always been happy with Cuisinart products in the past BUT........
Pros: Love this new toy! Cons: Lots of parts to clean.
I've wanted a grind and brew coffee maker for a while, and I found this at a price less than $100 so I went ahead and ordered it. I took the 10 minutes to read the instructions, something I almost never do, but figured it would make my life easier. I...

Pros: Auto grind Cons: Cost, quality of brew, noise, cleaning
I appreciate a good cup of coffee and it seemed like this Cuisinart auto grind would be superior by providing the freshest coffee. In practice it doesn't work for me at all.
The most obvious drawback is the size. Height, width and depth are all...
Pros: Good coffee, nice design, nice price Cons: unreliable, guaranteed to need replacement
There is no better way to drink coffee than from a machine that brews fresh grounds. Cuisinart came very close at an acceptable price. The problem is reliability. I am on my third machine over a two-year period. The first one went up in a puff of plastic...
I have been using this product for four months now and I am very impressed. Although it is a bit pricey, the ability to grind coffee beans or use ground coffee is great. The product is not complicated to use and is easy to clean up. I prefer to buy...
Pros: A bit more time in cleaning. Cons: Numerous features(timers, temp.control, uses ground beans or whole beans,etc...)

Pros: The coffee has a full-bodied, freshly ground flavor Cons: a 'pain' to clean
On a scale of 1 to 10, the Cuisinart Coffee Bar 10-Cup Automatic Grind & Brew is a good, solid 8. We purchased this coffee maker to replace our Capresso machine while it is being repaired (second grinder in as many years). The price was of the...

Pros: Makes great tasting coffee. Cons: Nightmare to clean. Can't get basket out after 3 months use so no grind anymore.
This coffeemaker makes great coffee. Wastes a lot of your grounds. They stay in the grinder. After 3 months use, I can't get the plastic basket part out. The grinding spindle has chewed itself up I assume and basket is hung there. Therefore I can't use...
Pros: one unit, fast, efficient Cons: MAJOR pain to clean

Pros: convenience, appearance Cons: weak coffee - grinder too small
I received this coffeemaker as a gift from my mother. I would take it back if she hadn't bought it at the store where she works. My main problem is that the grinder isn't large enough to fit the quantity of beans I would like to use. I like strong...
Pros: programmable, grinds at brew time Cons: too large, impossible to clean water well, hard to clean parts
This machine is the pits. The physical design is very bad, it is large and difficult to manage. The water well is so narrow that I cannot even clean the bottom with a q-tip. If I wash the brewing parts by hand as they need to be washed every night, it...
Pros: I'm trying here, automated program for sleepy heads like me? Cons: dirty, filthy and awful to clean.
I am now looking at my second cusinart grind and brew coffee maker. The first one I owned worked fine for the first year and a half that I had it, but then the grinder broke. I was about to replace it when I decided to dig up the owners manual and see w ...
Pros: Makes ALL other coffee makers seem excellent Cons: Weak bitter coffee, crazy cleanup, flimsy construction, giant design
My wife bought this for us (me) and I felt bad about telling her we had to return it, since we'd just gotten married. Lucky for me she's a practical and wonderful person. This is NOT a practical and wonderful coffeemaker. Do you REALLY want to HAVE to ...
After going through two other coffee makers I've finally found the one that's a keeper. Everything is well designed and the result is a consistently good cup of coffee every time. I don't find the grinder to be any quieter nor louder than the other two...
Pros: Excellent coffee. Grind-n-brew: very cool concept! Cons: Time consuming clean up and tedious to re-assemble.
This was a gift. My sister-in-law has one and loves it, so I thought it would be a good thing to have. It is, indeed. I wasn't counting on the clean up being so complicated, though. You have to dis-assemble (3 pieces) and rinse and dry EVERY TIME....
Pros: Programmable, easy to use and keep clean Cons: Can't adjust the grind, mess to clean up grounds when grinder is used. Short Cord.
I have always been a coffee nut! I see a coffee shop and it is addictive, I must stop! The smell, the experience of the new flavors and varieties intrigue me more than anything else. That's why I have always wanted a fancy-schmancy machine that would ...
Pros: Great coffee, timer, grinder, hot brewing temperature Cons: Difficult to clean
The big plus on this machine, if you use it, is the timer. You can set the timer so you can wake up to fresh ground coffee in the morning. (Yes, the grinder is loud, and it will wake you up--another plus--but what coffee grinder isn't loud?) There are...
Pros: - Grinds and brews
- Real "Mellita Style" filter system
- Coffee Bar Flavor System Cons: - More work to clean than if no grinder

Pros: No spilling the fresh grounds. Cons: Hard to clean

Pros: Makes a tasty pot of coffee Cons: Way too much to clean-up
This makes a great cup of coffee but if you use the grind feature plan on 10 minutes of cleanup. This is just uncalled for in a coffee maker. It also has too many parts, which require disassembly each time of use. When you do grind, it sounds like a...
Pros: Great coffee automatically every morning; many features Cons: Hard to clean; too many parts
Do you like coffee? Well this is the Cadillac version of the coffee maker. This has every feature for making coffee under the sun. Everything from bean grinding to automatic start.
Pros: grinder
Cons: loud, leaks, does not stop brewing when you remove the pot, customer service
I received this coffee maker as a Christmas present from my mother in law, I was very happy with the performance of the coffee maker when I first started using it, after about 6 months it started to leak on occasion, now it acts funny taking a long time ...
Pros: The best home cup of coffee I've ever had! Cons: Constant cleaning a hassle.
I hesitated to spend the money on a coffee system - but, what the heck? It was the best $100 bucks spent on a machine for the kitchen counter. I have really enjoyed the coffee and will recommend the machine to all of my coffee addicted friends. The...
Pros: Easy to use product providing great, freshly ground coffee! Cons: Hard to clean for those without a dishwasher.

Pros: great coffee initially Cons: Keep the warranty - coffeemaker goes downhill rapidly
I have just chucked my third Grind n' Brew in as many years; the coffee is initially great but performance declines quickly; first the timer stops working, then the coffeemaker shuts off immediately after brewing, and then the machine will not work at...
Pros: Great coffee Cons: clean, clean and clean again!
My husband and I LOVE our coffee. Starbucks is our favorite and I would always buy the beans, grind them and then use a regular auto drip coffee maker.
Well, when I saw this one I thought I died and went to heaven! BUT after about three weeks of...
Pros: everything about it Cons: can't say any about this item
I bought this because i love my coffee freshly ground and brewed. i chose this one because it looked to be the best for the price in what i wanted. I love the fact that i can put my beans in this at night and wake up to freshly ground beans and brewed...
Pros: spectacular pot of coffee, programmable, easy to use Cons: difficult to clean

Pros: Makes a great cup of coffee Cons: not reliable and hard to clean
I am on my 4th Grind & Brew and now I give up. I bought one in 2000 and the grinder died. Received another for Xmas not realizing that the 1st was under warranty. This one dies 4 months later. Sent back 2 to Cuisinart
( I had to pay for...
Pros: Easier to use than a separate grinder and coffee maker Cons: Unreliable, and there's a better machine out there
The Cuisinart Automatic Grind & Brew DGB-300 Series Coffee Bar was originally purchased in May 1999 because of convenience. Although I also considered the Capresso unit, the Cuisinart was half the cost ($99 vs. $199). Although it was awkward to...
I loved this coffeemaker - made the best coffee yet and the grinder did not wake up the dead. It took up a lot of counter space, but it was stylish and I got it in navy blue which is not a color one usually finds so I could use it at parties. The...
High Maintenance & Low Durability by efgarcia ,Apr 17 '04
Pros: Great tasting coffee Cons: Too much time spent cleaning & DRYING the unit. Unit broke after a year.
A great idea but you spend more time cleaning and drying the unit so you can grind & brew the coffee together than you would if you used a separate grinder. Also, my unit broke after a year and a half. I do confess that I have no complaints about the quality of coffee brewed.
1 Year with the Cuisinart DGB-300 and counting by pk14 ,Dec 01 '03
Pros: Great tasting coffee! Attractive. Keeps coffee hot for four hours. Cons: Clean up is a daily chore. Replacement carafe is only available replacement part.
I've owned this machine for a little over 1 year now and it still does what I purchased it for - brew a great 10 cup pot of coffee. The brew-pause function (courtesy of the spring loaded plastic lever) has broken off, the aroma seal (clear plastic flap on the front of the carafe lid) has broken off, and I've had to replace the carafe once when it broke (my fault setting it down too quickly in the ceramic sink). Otherwise, it has been a Timex. Clean-up is a daily chore, however, all the dirty pieces go into the dish washer before leaving for work in the morning and are ready to be re-assembled in the coffee maker with fresh water, coffee filter, and whole beans for the next morning's automatic brewing. I never tried it using pre-ground coffee, nor have I messed with the variable coffee aroma knob (seems like more of a gimmick). Only reason to get a new machine is to get the brew pause function back. Choice between another DGB-300 and the new DGB-500 will be tough...
Pros: Easy, grinder is attached, quick, self clean Cons: Messy, plastic hinges wear out, didn't last a year
I've used this coffee maker almost daily for the past nine months or so (it was a Christmas gift certificate purchase) and it's worked great. It's a little messy, you have to clean it every time you use it, but you get used to it. The issue I have is that the top is spring-loaded so you have to push on it to get it to open. That's a lot of wear on the plastic hinge, which brings me to my next issue. One of the hinges has totally worn away and broken off, so I'm reduced to one hinge. It can't be replaced, so I'm just waiting for the other one to break (which it will soon because it's the one getting all of the pressure now). Then I'll have to get a new coffee maker. This time, I'll check the hinges! This would be a great machine, but having to replace it every year is just crazy not worth it.
Cuisinart DGB-300 Grind & Brew by hoosierguy1990 ,Mar 19 '08
Pros: Makes the absolute best tasting coffee Cons: Cleaning it, and maybe the lid latch..just be careful with it!
This coffee maker makes the best coffee of ANY coffee maker I have ever owned - and I have tried a lot, even other Cuisinart models. I had my old DGB-300 tucked away in the basement because the latch on the lid broke, and have been through three other coffee makers since, ranging from $50 to $170. After my last coffee maker experiment, I dug this thing out, gave it a thorough cleaning, weighted the lid down, and let her go. Ahhhh. This thing still makes the best coffee ever. SO, I ordered a new one for $50 from Amazon.com, and will tuck the old one away once again for safe keeping.
Yes, cleaning the parts after each use is a pain...but it's not that bad, honestly. Coffee that good has to require some extra work! It is definitely worth it. Since this little baby doesn't have a charcoal filter, make sure you use filtered or bottled water. It's amazing how many people get bad tasting coffee because they use unfiltered water right out of the tap. Yuck!
Cuisinart Grinder/Coffeemaker more trouble than it's worth by lyonjl ,Feb 21 '05
Pros: Grinds, makes coffee. Cons: Grinds only coarsely, must be cleaned constantly.
I finally tired of cleaning the entire machine every third batch of coffee. There are basic design flaws in the piston which opens the coffee drawer and eventually you will wind up with a countertop and floor full of grounds and coffee as I did. It is impossible to prevent old coffee buildup in the piston and the drawer will not open without force OR will not latch and will spew. Forget this one, keep looking.
Cuisinart coffee bar consumer nightmare by kynurse ,Sep 16 '03
Pros: It has a clock and timer, when brewing is complete it will beep. Cons: Difficult to clean, such a hassle for a pot of coffee!
For those of you that have limited counter top area stay away from this one! It is extremely large! It is difficult to maneuver as the top must be raised in order to get to the parts and pour water into the reservoir. The pot is nice and has a nice design. other than that I was not impressed by the body. After using this machine 3 times the grinder stopped working. I could hear it making noise but acted as if it was locked up. After purchasing another brand my husband took this one apart and was amazed to find rust and coffee grinds inside of the grinder where it should have been air tight as to not allow the passing of water into the motor. This one is not worth the time, effort, nor the money unless you have the money to spare and don't know what to do with it and lots of time on your hands.
TOO Much work for a good cup of coffee by klock3 ,Dec 27 '04
Pros: It comes in black Cons: TOO MANY TO LIST
I have owned other grinder coffee makers, and could not believe how much work this one is. Every part of the coffee maker has to be cleaned after each use. And I mean if you don't take a q-tip and clean out the grooves that holds the basket it will stick and you will have to pry it out. Also the basket that holds the beans sticks and I have had to get a screwdriver to pry it out. i have had to wash it so many times, now the printing is coming off the buttons and I have to guess what they are. Come on, for the price it should be a lot easier. I called tech support and they simply told me "Well this is a high maintenance item". That is way too much work for a cup of coffee. I owned a Melita before and it grinds and drips through the same basket. Only 1 thing to clean, and no q-tips required.
Pros: Makes great tasting coffee. Cons: Very loud, hard to clean, doesn't last.
Makes great coffee but extremely loud and hard to clean. You can forget about making coffee early in the morning with this thing unless you want to wake everyone up.
good but if one small part breaks..... by brewy3200 ,Feb 16 '07
Pros: has worked reliably & makes good coffee Cons: my wife and I agree that one little part breaking stinks.
Love having fresh beans ground and brewed in the morning. Bought this a year or so ago after our separate grinder burned out. But, the other day the snap catch on the cover broke, so we are currently using tape to keep the cover closed so it will operate. Can't seem to easily find a replacement part online. It's just a little thing that snaps in to the lid. But all they have is carafes and such. I'm a handy guy and would like to just replace this little part, but it seems I will have to rig some kind of hasp to keep the lid shut. I hate to toss a perfectly good appliance just because of a little broken part.
Looks great but doesn't last by swann72 ,Aug 25 '06
Pros: Looks great, makes a good pot of coffee. Cons: Doesn't hold up. No product support.Too tall. Takes up space. Time consuming to clean.
Worked great for us for 3 years, then the grinder seized up. A couple of weeks ago, electronic problems started cropping up and then it failed altogether. Called customer service and was told that without a receipt nothing could be done. Furthermore parts are not made, hence there was no service center to send it to. I've had far cheaper models last longer. You're paying for the name on this one. Makes good coffee, but I'm convinced good coffee is all in the bean. We've decided to go back to a cheaper, smaller maker, and use a separate electric grinder instead.
Pros: Coffee tastes good. Cons: Doesn't taste any better that any other coffee maker with fresh ground beans. Terrible design.
Where do I start:
Leaks. Impossible to clean. Needs 25% more coffee beans than our old Mr. Coffee to make the same cup of coffee. Makes the beans soggy if setup the night before thereby having grinds stick to the grinder making it necessary to clean the grinder every use. Difficult to pour the water into the top unless you're 7' tall. Impossible to avoid spilling beans without removing the grinder assembly. Programming is too complicated for words and does not hold when you unplug for the 1/2 hour cleaning job. Plastic parts are wearing out after 2 months.
Lousy design. Lousy quality control. Lousy instructions. Cuisinart should be ashamed to put their label on it.
Pros: Great coffee Cons: Poor reliability - difficult to clean - noisy
Writing from our experience this coffee maker makes excellent coffee but I find its durability to be in question. After 1 1/2 years the grinder seized up and the coffee maker was replaced by Cuisinart for a $10 service charge.... less than a year later the unit has now quit making coffee altogether .... the grinder comes on and then the unit just quits.... never produces coffee. Great while it lasted .... not very reliable in our case.
The DGB 300 no parts available by fedupoone ,Nov 07 '05
Pros: When it was working it was a fine machine. Cons: The coffee machine will not run it the top lid jumps open.
A small plastic part that locks down the lid broke. It simply slides out of its mount. I have tried all over the place to get a replacement part. None are available!
If anyone needs a part after buying this product, forget it.
Not too impressive small appliance.
Worst Coffee Maker Ever by macungie909 ,Jan 24 '07
Pros: Makes a good cup of coffee. Cons: Very messy and requires too much cleaning.
This is without a doubt the worst product I have ever purchased. It is a modern inconvenience. The bean reservoir/grinder gets contaminated by water vapor during every brew cycle. As a result the bean reservoir must be thoroughly washed and dried between every brew. I spend far more time keeping this device clean than I ever did with my old coffee maker and a separate grinder. There are far better choices on the market for less money.
Coffee nut LOVES this-worth the messy cleaning! by maineskueez ,Feb 09 '06
Pros: Fast brewing;convenient, easy to set timer; adjustable temp;audible beeps;no paper filter needed Cons: none that I consider important
I won this coffee maker over 2 years ago but when it's needing to be replaced, I will definitely buy this same model again! At whatever the retail price is! It may be messy to clean but the dependability and wonderful coffee it makes are well worth any hassle. Im a coffee nut and Ive owned at least 10 different brands of coffee makers with a wide range of available features. Handy features mean nothing if the coffee is nasty. This machine makes such great coffee that I dont bother going through the drive-thrus anymore. Nothing else compares. The dependability is unmatched too. It still brews as fast as it did when it was new. Ive never had a single issue with this machine. Friends and family who have had the pleasure of a cup of coffee at our house have all gone out and bought one for themselves. To date, 11 other households own one because of our recommendation and the taste of our coffee and not a single person is complaining about the cleanup.
Pros: It is neater than transferring grounds from a grinder to a coffee pot. Cons: I clean the whole assembly everyday. So, cleaning is sort of a pain.
This pot makes good coffee. I like the idea of less clutter on the counter because the grinder is combined with the coffee maker. I would buy this again. Next time, I would probably look at the stainless steel model, too.
