Pros: revolutionizes many of your recipes Cons: cost, weight
The Cuisinart Prep 11 Plus is a wonder that begs to be in every kitchen where food preparation is taken to the next level. In the last 5 years or so, I have found myself being drawn into my wifes kitchen more and more by all these great gadgets she...
Pros: excellent at pureeing, shredding, and slicing, washes easily in dishwasher Cons: safety-locks take some time to figure out, expensive, plastic base looks cheesy
I had an Oster 10-Cup Food Processor for about a year and a half before it blew itself up in a blaze of glory. I don't bake and I only used the thing once or twice a week tops to make pesto, hummus, or to shred soft things like kale or yellow squash. ...
Pros: easy release and connect features, extra-large feed tube, auto-on when feed tube is engaged Cons: price, few extras in the package
I thought I didn't need a food processor. The Cuisinart Prep Plus DLC-2011 has shown me I can make good use of one as a time-saver. At the very least it has shown me that it's a worthwhile extravagance when the price is right. Food Proces ...
Pros: powerful motor, large bowl, good brand Cons: set up and cleaning time
Over the years we have been married my wife has mentioned from time to time that she would like a food processor. In the past she has done almost all of the cooking so I take her at her word when it comes to the kitchen, but a good food processor isn’t ...
Pros: powerful, attractive, easy to clean, does not take up a lot of room Cons: expensive, but well worth it
Anyone who has read my other epinions on Cuisinart cookware and appliances knows that I am already a huge fan of theirs. Well this is no exception. I had the privilage of winning this in a contest a few weeks ago. I had been wanting one really bad, but...
Pros: Well made.
Quiet.
Fast.
Easy to clean. Cons: Expensive.
Might be hard to store.
I really enjoy cooking. And I enjoy gadgets. That said, I never would have bought the DLC-2011 for myself. It was a gift from my husband. Oh, I would have visited it in the store and online, and would have WANTED one, but I wouldn't have shelled out ...
Pros: Quiet, powerful, sharp blades, stylish Cons: Could use more slicing blades
After a terrible experience with a Euro-Pro Quad-blade food processor (see another review), I decided it was time to stop being frugal and look for the best quality machine I could afford. After all, with three children in the house, my wife uses this ...
Pros: Full-featured, powerful, versatile, large capacity, easy to use, attractive design. Cons: Heavy, takes quite a bit of space. High $$ accessories needed for simple tasks.
As an accomplished home cook who hates a cluttered counter top, I always resisted buying a food processor. After using the Cuisinart for a few months, I don't know why I waited so long. The Machine This model features the same powerful and ...
Cuisinart DLC-2011N Premier Series 11-Cup Food Processor A few years ago, someone gave me my first food processor. It was utilitarian, but not a joy to use. When it broke, I decided I could live without one. However, the time came again when I ...
Pros: Easy to use and so fast the fun's over before it begins. Cons: Durability is a problem and it bogs down on a double recipe of bread dough.
My wife picked up a Cuisinart Prep 11 Plus Food Processor just in time for us to make our favorite green salsa to go with the ham she was making for Christmas dinner. The Cuisinart Little Pro Plus we had used forever was undersized and suffering from a...
Pros: Makes quick work of slicing, chopping, pureeing, mixing and shredding. Cons: Beautiful round base is hard to grip for lifting.
I had wanted a food processor for YEARS, but I was always fearful of buying an expensive kitchen item that I would use furiously a few times then chunk in the back of a closet after a hummus/slaw/shredded cheese burnout. I mean, really, how often would I ...
Pros: Versatile, large capacity and easy to clean Cons: Expensive, but worth it
I have had mine for a year now and still continue to use it on a weekly basis. It is extremely versatile, from the slicing attachment that will give you paper-thin slices of tomatoes, to the dough attachment that makes perfect homemade pizza dough. The...
Pros: High capacity, heavy-duty motor Cons: Annoying safety feature, expensive replacement parts
For the most part, I like this machine. It was the one I wanted and it does what I need it to do and I like that (I've never made dough in it, so cannot comment on that feature, which seems to be where people have issues with it). That said, there is ...
Pros: Hard working, versatile Cons: Very early failure in pusher assembly, and poor customer service
Like another reviewer, I had a Cuisinart for over 20 years and I loved it. It was dependable and when one part developed a crack, the company replaced it at no charge, even though it was more than 10 years old at the time. I was impressed! So when it...
Pros: Powerfully smooth operation, quiet and quick Cons: Heavy and expensive
My food processor of twenty years finally gave up this past Christmas. Suddenly I was in the market for a new one - and quickly! Funny how certain luxuries become necessities over time.
It was my good fortune to find that a new store was...
Pros: Great machine. Makes wonderful bread dough and lovely sliced vegetables. Cons: Can't recommend this brand due to appalling customer service from Conair, Cusinart's parent company.
Cuisinart has terrible customer service! I wish I hadn't bought my PowerPrep 11 Pro food processor from them after the bad experience I've had. I also own a Cuisinart Mini Prep Plus chopper. One day I left the work bowl lid too near the stove and part ...
Pros: Quiet, extremely powerful, easy to clean, great looks! Cons: None
This is some piece of equipment. If you are serious about cooking the Cuisinart will be your partner for life.
I got mine for Christmas and I've already made a bunch of stuff. The dough button is great since gives you the right speed to knead it....
Pros: ease of use & clean up, quality of food, durability, style, weight Cons: plastic bowl clouds after several dishwashing cycles (refer to caveat in my review's body)
This model represents my introductory processor in the land of food processors (if you will). Some heck of a "first" for me, eh? Well, I researched many processors prior to selecting my Cuisinart; I even touched, prodded and played with a few at my local ...
I visited eopinions for a rating for cusineart and could not find any for Indian cooking. So thought i would write one based on my experiences. I find it excellent to grind batter for puffed rice patties (idlis), dosas and vada in no time and also to prepare chapathi dough. I use it to shred cabbage.
The only thing is when i use it for mixing dough or any single use i have to wash and clean all the 4 parts which takes a long time. But it saves me a lot of energy and time otherwise.
Other than these i use it for grating vegetables and mash potato/vegetables/soups and on the whole is of more use when i cook for many people and many dishes..as i need not clean the parts everytime and also save a lot of time and energy.
If you do not have a blender or processor / grinder then u can get the cusineart.
Cuisinart Prep 11 Plus DLC-2011 Food Processor by brematt21 ,Sep 16 '03
Pros: Versatile, easy use. Excellent warranty give by company
Cons: Pricey, a little heavy.
A wonderful product. Works just as well as it is advertised. I was given this as a gift from my parents to prepare homemade baby food for my new daughter. It was awesome.
Good Food Processor, Cheap Bowl by electron_man ,Apr 01 '05
Pros: Solid base unit, heavy motor
Great dough cycle
Wide feed tube Cons: Accessories are of poor quality
Accessories are very expensive
The food processor itself is very heavy and the construction is solid. It doesn't have a lot of features, but what it does, it does well. I particularly like the dough feature. I was very skeptical that it could knead dough properly in 30 seconds since I thought this was something that simply took time; however, I tried it, and I have to say that I could not have done any better by hand. For this alone, it may be worth the purchase.
On the flip side, the accessories are rather cheaply made, especially the work bowl. After a year, mine developed cracks and finally broke. It looks like something that you should be able to get at Wal-Mart for $4.99, but they're $40 at most places. The other accessories are also expensive and the quality not impressive. If the accessories were made like the base unit, this would be a great machine. Unfortunately, they are the weakest link.
consists of flexible speed motor. more reliable but cost is bit high. good safety features and cleaning facility available. it is having longest life also.
Not happy with my 'new' Cuisanart by jonigo ,Sep 29 '05
Pros: Attachments included with processor unit offer different cutting capabilities. Cons: Cannot locate any Cuisanart documentation or online support.
Received the DLC-2011 for Christmas 2003, (or was it 2004?), and have only used it maybe three times. Pulled it out today to use, 09/29/2005, but it won't work! The 'On' light comes on; just a slight click, but nothing.
Prior to this sad experience, I was pleased to use the DLC-2011 that helped me prep ingredients for new recipes. In the past before the Cuisanart, I would forego such 'complicated' recipes.
I love this machine. It's... by jikim_dt3000 ,Apr 01 '02
I love this machine. It's great for making pizza dough and other breads too. It cuts down my time to make fresh homemade salsa to minutes. I use it to grate whole heads of cabbage for cole slaw. It's just a wonderful machine! Cleaning is quite easy. I typically soak then clean.
Wonderful machine. Used at least three times a day for the last 3.5 years with no problems at all. Finally, the bowl is showing signs of wear and cracked. Has held up under abuse and heavy use in a group home setting. Previously, other brands would last maybe 3 to 4 months. Well worth the 199.99!!
Pros: Time savings and performance Cons: Price is foreboding, but still a great kitchen investment
We purchased our PowerPrep Plus at Costco for $170 which included a second prep bowl and extra blades. We have had the machine for 2 years and my only compliant is that I can't use it more. Does about anything you ask from dough to cheese grating to potato slices to chopping. I love using it for homemade mayonnaise. Sure, much of what it does can be done by hand, but time, time, time and time easily make it worth the cash. If you can, get the extra bowl, it makes life much easier (though cleaning the bowls isn't hard).
