Pros: More powerful motor, extracts more juice, bigger filter, easier to clean, quieter Cons: More expensive, more parts, bigger, smaller feed chute
We recently upgraded from our trusty Juiceman II to this Omega juicer, and we've been delighted by the switch. We've used Juiceman juicers for at least seven years, and were attracted to them via the Jay Kordich TV infomercials. (We've written a review...
The first review was well spoken. I agonized over whether to get the Omega 8001 or the Green Life. My decision was made easier by talking to numerous juicer sellers that mostly agreed the Omega 8001 is a little easier to clean and reassemble and that...
Pros: good quality juice, high yield, quiet operation Cons: costs a little more than the competition
The Omega 4000 is an intermediate level juicer, fitting between several products in the $100 range (like the Braun MP-80) and the industrial strength Norwalk at well over $1000. It is a little more expensive than the popular...
Pros: Juices about anything. Easy to use, clean-up, and disassemble. Produces a good amount of juice. Cons: Not the greatest at pulp ejection. A little pricey.
When I first considered buying a juicer I researched many different types and brands before I settled on the Omega 4000. My household now juices every day, sometimes more than once a day. We have juiced a wide variety of things with our Omega 4000 ...
Pros: Strong, well build, fairly efficient. Cons: No safety interlock switch.
I've Tried several Juicers and each of them has been a disappointment in one way or another. In January, I bought the Omega 4000 from Costco on-line and so far, this juicer does just about everything I expect of it. The Omega 4000 is made in ...
Pros: Excellent design, fine materials that should endure long service, easy clean-up, delicious output, Cons: None
We just received our Omega 4000 Juicer. It's built with superior materials (stainless steel, solidly built screen, and non-brittle plastic; the spindle in our Jack LaLanne began crumbling several months ago and gradually disintegrated leaving no thread ...
Pros: Good quality juice. Cons: Spatters juice everywhere, clogs easily - bogs down, small input opening.
I got this juicer at the Vitamin Shoppe for $150 and thought I had a great deal. Well... sort of! When I got it home I noticed that as soon as the juice comes out of the spout that the high air flow from under the basket blows juice spatters all ...
Pros: This product is the best! Easy to clean, makes lots of juice! Cons: Nothing!
I bought my Omega 4000 juicer for Christmas 2002. It is the absolute best product I have had for years!
Yes, I did the Internet search (at length!) and looked in the stores to compare the differences. There is no comparison! This juicer is,...
Pros: NONE!!! Cons: Complete junk! 15 year warranty means nothing if you don't buy it directly from manufacturer!
Buyer BEWARE! I ordered a Omega 4000 juicer as a gift for my father a while back and the thing is absolute junk! Not only is there more juice coming out of the pulp than what is actually coming out of the spout but the pulp ejector is constantly getting ...
Pros: Powerful, high yields, not terribly expensive Cons: Cleaning is a pain, but that's the same with any juicer
My dad got us into "juicing" with his carrot/apple juice that he made. I gave up on the horrible Hamilton Beach type juicers you can buy on the shelf at Walmart, and went to work on some research. After a lot of reading, I settled on an Omega 4000 and ...
Best Juice I've Tasted, Good for Fruits and Vegetables by purplebird7 ,Jan 15 '04
Pros: Juices both fruits and vegetables. Gets all the juice out. Juice is pulp-free. Continuous juicing. Cons: Noisy. Need to wear headphones. Has plastic parts that may break.
You've never tasted real juice until you've juiced fresh fruits and vegetables. The Omega 4000 makes delicious juice: rich taste, no pulp. Cleanup is easy. Buy an ear-protector headset and you will have a pleasant experience. I considered buying a masticating or auger juicer because of low RPMs but chose this centrifugal juicer because:
1. It is good at juicing both fruits and vegetables, even leafy greens (alternated with other produce.)
2. Gets all the juice out of the pulp. No need to re-juice pulp to reduce waste.
3. Leaves no pulp in the juice. No chunky texture or straining.
4. I don't store juice, I drink it right away, so oxidation is no problem.
4. I wear headsets, so I don't hear any noise.
5. It's fast, ejects pulp, and does continuous juicing.
Still lovin' it after 4 years. by vpb10904 ,Nov 07 '04
Pros: Produces good, sweet tasting juice quickly and quietly. Best warranty available. Cons: Honestly can't think of any.
Produces a very good, sweet tasting juice. I have used it regularly for over 4 years and find it to be a good product. It has a rubbery feet that keep it perfectly in place. Clean up take just a few minutes. The pulp is excellent for composting, too. I'd recommend it since I am very happy with this machine.
The spout on this is open at the top. Needless to say that the ensuing splatters of juice all over your kitchen rivals those of Gallagher and his big mallet.
Customer service at Omega is non-responsive. They say that they will have a new improved bowl sometime, but that was over a year ago.
Mine now resides in my kitchen closet as a permanent reminder.
*** Update! ***
After reading my review, a representative from Omega contacted me and reviewed my situation. I was immediately sent out an update package that included a new bowl, new top, plunger(larger opening!) and clamps to "update" my 4000 juicer. The spout is now very similar to the other models Omega produces. The clamps are necessary because of the physical shape of the new top. This is NOW an exceptional appliance and I am relieved to know that customer service is alive and well at Omega Juicers.
I am also glad to know that manufacturers do read the reviews of their products and respond accordingly.
In the past month, this is the third juicer that I have tried. By far, the Omega 4000 is the one that I'm most satisfied with. It's easy to use, super-easy to clean, and the quality of the craftsmanship is paramount.
One of the other juicers that I tried was the Omega 8001. I had read that the low-speed emastication juicers, which is what the 8001 is, are the juicers that produce the highest quality juice. The juice that the 8001 produces is of superior quality of any thing else that I had tried; however, it was so labor intensive, that for me, a quality centrifugal ejection juicer like the 4000 was the way to go.
If storing a juice for more than 8 hours is something that you desire, go with a low-speed masculating juicer; otherwise, for time, convience, and quality, the Omega 4000 is a superior machine.
Pros: Very quietMakes great frothy juicersHigh quality Long warrantyEasy to clean and use Cons: none
This was my first juicer but I did quite a bit of research and it has certainly paid off. I can't imagine there being a better machine on the market for the price. Have been using it fairly consistently for the past two months and it has proven itself to be very solid and a pleasure to use.
