The best thing about this maker is the ice cream it produces. The double-acting dasher and the powerful motor make all the difference. With other makers you often get a grainy, icy, or soupy product.

The dasher on this maker has wooden blades. That means it doesn't scrape "chunks" of icy cream from the sides. The double-acting dasher stirs the brew while it is freezing to a velvety smooth texture.

The powerful motor freezes the cream to a much firmer state than most other freezers.

I have owned my freezer for three years and have been very pleased.

...does not mean that it is!! I had always heard this freezer was the Holy Grail of homemade ice cream so I saved and saved until I could afford one. The first 3 times I made ice cream with it were wonderful. I boxed it up for the summer in the original box and kept it in my climate controlled garage. Today, I opened the box (I didn't even have to clean anything), mixed up 6 quarts of peach goodness, plugged in the shiny motor and it just sat there and smoldered. Thanks to the useless and crappy one year warranty on the motor, it is now a smelly paperweight. Go to Wal-Mart and buy yourself the cheapest freezer they have. I promise, it will last you longer than 3 makings!
