  • Ultimate, Schmultimate: I want my Zojirushi back

Rated a Very Helpful Review by the Epinions community
    Feb 16, 2005
Pros: lots of cycles, automatic fruit and nut dispenser
Cons: lousy documentation, non-working features, unnecessarily complex programming, flimsy construction

Summary: Some time late last year the Ms (bless her pointy little head) decided that my hoary old Zojirushi bread machine was due for retirement. It was, after all, about fifteen years old and had survived three cross-country moves and thousands of loaves of ... read more

  • Nice bread machine

Rated a Very Helpful Review by the Epinions community
    Mar 12, 2012
Pros: cost effective, great bread, highly programmable, time delay
Cons: sometimes overflows, doesn't always work well if you don't supervise ingredient mixing.

Summary: First of all, this machine does just about everything.  You have 3 settings for just about everything ~ loaf size (1, 1.5, 2 lbs), crust (brown, neutral, light), 2-knead, 3-knead, and so forth. It makes horizontal bread loaves and is superior to the ... read more

  • Deadman is a better name

Rated a Somewhat Helpful Review by the Epinions community
    Aug 25, 2006
Pros: Wakes the dead, did not explode, made bread occasionally, eliminates excess money.
Cons: Demonic, useless warranty, scares small children and animals, makes bread occasionally.

Summary: So my wife wants a breadmaker for Christmas... $100 and change at Macy's and we're eating fresh bread every day. For a month. Sounding like a crew of crack-addled gorillas with jackhammers remodeling my kitchen, it makes wonderful bread. For a month. ... read more

Rated a Helpful Review by the Epinions community
    May 11, 2006
Pros: Easy to use. Programs easily. Has lasted long time. Good company customer service
Cons: "Dough" cycle does not allow for "add-ins". I wish the add-in bin was bigger.

Summary: I have had my TR2200C nearly four years now (anniversary date: Oct, 2006). I bake heavily -- 3-5 times a week. I have had breads that don't turn out, but that is because I needed to learn about the importance of water quantity. Water amounts are ... read more

Rated a Very Helpful Review by the Epinions community
    Mar 28, 2005
Pros: Makes making your own bread trivial.
    Cons: None really.

Summary: I hemmed and hawed for a while before buying this breadmaker. Now that I have it, I probably use it more than most of my other appliances (appx 1x per week). It takes me just about exactly 10 minutes to get the ingredients together, measure them out, add ... read more

    Pros: Price, settings, options
Cons: LOUD as -bleep-, doesn't mix well, unpredictable

Summary: Well, I had a breadmaker (not Breadman) that I adored - and I used it daily for almost three years - when it died, I cried and buried it in the garden next to my basil. OK, so now that you know I am slightly biased, here is my experience with the ... read more

Pros: Good interface many options, aggressively priced.
Cons: Not for regular use because pan is thin, cracks & starts leaking

Summary: This breadmachine has a good interface, good motor and good overall features, with one big problem. I've baked more than one hundred breads with it, probably hundreds. The real problem is that the pan, in which you pour the ingredients and bake the br ... read more
