Pros: sturdy Cons: heavy to move
I live in a household with a small income, which means we homemade nearly all of our breads, desserts, etc. Having a mixer makes this so much easier. I can put the ingredients in and let them mix while I prepare other things. I received this mixer as...

Pros: Lots of power, easy to clean Cons: Can be loud but then all mixers are
Ok, so my husband is the one that cooks. Big deal!! He has made so many different things with this I almost can't remember it all. He has gotten most of the attachments, like for making sausage, and a grinder and a lot of others that I can not think of...

Pros: easy to use, mixes quick and effectively, has lots of attachments for many uses. Cons: is a bit pricey as well as a bit bulky and hard to store.

Pros: It can knead bread, mix brownies and double batches of cookies. Cons: The food grinder is slow and inconvenient.
The mixer cannot adequately mix single batches
Kitchen Aid stand mixers come in several sizes, with this 4.5 quart being the smallest. I was leaning toward getting the 6 quart 'Epicurian', as I wanted to be able to knead two loaves of bread at once. A friend who has had her K45SS for years cautioned...

Pros: the best you can buy Cons: pricey but well worth it
The classic Kitchen Aid mixer is what I grew up with in my mother's kitchen. It was an appliance that was as revered as the frost free refrigerator. Unfortunately when I grew up she wouldn't part with her mixer, so she bought me one of my own. Now some...

Pros: Power Cons: Cost of unit and all options
I bought this Kitchen Aid mixer because I wanted a good one but didn't want to spend a lot of money. You can do that. It's a good mixer but it ain't cheap. It was $200 and to make it a good one (w/ all the options) it's gonna cost you a fortune. They...

Pros: POWER POWER POWER. It has many optional attachments. Cons: HEAVY.
If you want to keep up with Emeril or Julia, you need the Kitchen Aid mixer. Even with the basic model, you will never need another mixer. The attachments work well. The mixer stands nicely on the counter without looking tacky. The parts clean up easily....

I received my model K45 Kitchenaid mixer when I got married in 1992. It has never failed me, and has never broken. It is easy to use, it mixes everything well, and efficiently, it is easy to clean up, and allows the chef to have free hands.
