Pros: easy-clean interior, easily removable crumb tray, versatility, more space than we expected Cons: don't turn both timers on at once or the auto shut-off will be disabled; being greedy I'd like even more space; somewhat expensive
Special Note on 10/17/00: Despite the fact that epinions has added a little note to this product that says it isn't available on-line, they're wrong. I purchased mine at http://www.tavolo.com/, and I just checked - it's still available there. I...

Expensive to last only 4 years
by m3pete ,Mar 01 '07
Pros: Size (large), oven timer that turned oven off if you forgot. Cons: Inconvenience of flipping rack to toast, uneven toasting
Yeah, I know, 4 years is a long time, but when you spend around $125 (I can't recall the exact amount, but around there), you expect something to last for a while. Considering that you can buy a REAL electric oven for less than $300, which is a major appliance with 4 burners and an oven large enough to roast a turkey that will probably last you 10 years or more, this tiny little convenience oven is hardly a bargain.
It made OK toast, but was not all that even. And as others said, you have to flip the rack to toast. We did get a fair amount of use out of the oven while it lasted though, my wife is a serious toaster oven user.
Sadly, I was reading some eopinion reviews of some of the DeLonghi toaster ovens, and they report the same short life expectancy. Why is a long-lived toaster oven so hard to find?

Too Bad it Won't Last Beyond the Warranty
by landiec ,Jul 13 '04
Pros: Roomy enough for a family sized meal. Cooked quickly. Cleaned easily. Cons: Poor for toast. Switching rack position for toasting is a pain. Durability poor.
I bought this oven based on a recommendation from Good Housekeeping Magazine. I loved it! I used it every day, and the only thing I disliked about it was that the position of the tray had to be changed frequently for toasting vs. baking. It broke down the first time just before the one year warranty expired. I found a Krups authorized repair center located somewhat in my area and had it fixed at no charge. Four weeks after the warranty expired, it died again. I decided not to bother paying repair charges, since the first repair lasted such a short time. I'm truly disappointed that it broke - it was great while it lasted.

not as nice as I'd like
by kskingsley ,Dec 14 '03
Pros: looks good, is pretty big Cons: very slow on toast function - goes from not cooked to burned very quickly
It's pretty. but it takes about ten minutes to toast a single slice of bread. And the broiler/toast function doesn't work in the way it's supposed to.

not very durable
by hsushi ,Jun 16 '05
Pros: looks good, ease of use, removable crumb tray Cons: doesn't last past a year's worth of use
We've had the toaster oven for about three years, but really it just sat there looking pretty for the first two years. This past year we've been using it quite often, and have been very happy with it...until it broke (and I'm fairly compulsive about keeping things well maintained). So really, we only got about a year's use out of it before it stopped working.
Having read some of the other reviews, most people seem to have the same problems with durability/reliability at about the one year mark.

Keep looking.
by lemmefixit ,Jan 09 '05
Pros: Plenty of interior room, but... Cons: Requires switching positions of the rack when toasting toast vs. when cooking.
The toaster oven worked well for just over a year, and then busted.
My husband and I are pretty handy about fixing things, but when we went to repair it, we found it uses entirely non-standard fasteners (read: you're pretty much forced to send it back to the factory *at your expense - since the warranty's up*!)
We were only semi-satisfied with the functionality during the year it was working.
I am surprised, because I've been happy with other Krups products, but I'd advise staying away from this one.

Stay Away from Krups
by joshktown ,Jun 25 '04
Pros: worked well for over a year Cons: no reliability, the unit died after the warranty was up!!!
Got this toaster oven 1 1/2 ago worked well for just over a year, then it died (funny how that happens right when the warranty is over)anyways to be honest it was a pretty decent oven until then, we used it once twice a week, then one day totally dead the timer worked but no heat, out of the blue, we never moved it, or hit it..just died...so took it back to sears where we got it from, nothing they could do, 150 bucks out the window, we take care of our things and was very dissapointed with Krups and will never buy a krups product again, you shouldnt have to buy a toaster oven every year the one I had before laster 14 years and worked still when we got rid of it..stay away from Krups
