Pros: Great toast, easy to use, made for high production, energy efficient Cons: Not the Cheapest toaster out there
Quick SummaryI got this toaster 2 Christmas's ago and it has been working great. I have never had any trouble or complications with the Dualit, the best toaster I have ever used by far. Maybe because I buy the cheap ones and this was a gift, ...
Pros: 4 slots; toasts bread and sandwiches well; keeps toast warm when finished toasting Cons: expensive
We have the Dualit Combi 2+2 toaster. This model has four oversized slots. You can use these slots either for toasting bread or you can toast sandwiches with the use of a sandwich cage. The toaster only comes with two sandwich cages, but I purchased...
Pros: The best toast we have ever had. Sturdy. Effecient. Sleek. Cons: You have to retrain yourself on your toasting skills.
I was just about skinned alive 7 years ago when I brought this home after spending a small fortune. After our third "garbage toaster" in 2 years I decided to bite the bullet and get what I was hoping would be our last toaster. Yes, it is sleek, in an Art ...
Pros: Toasts good, and looks good doing it (OK, toasts 'well' for the grammar hounds) Cons: Need the latest gadgetry, digital readouts, or an alarm in your toaster? Look elsewhere...
If you're reading this, you probably know about this toaster. And it's every bit as amazing as you've been led to believe. Or maybe you've stumbled upon this review by mistake, or maybe you're doing research on "great toasters"... Either way, I ...
Pros: Well built. Easy to use. Looks great.
Cons: Needs wider and longer slots. Not great for odd sized bread.
Ok, what was I thinking buying a $300 toaster??? I asked myself that question as I was driving to the store to buy it, as I was staring at the store display, as I was handing my credit card to the cashier, as I was driving home, and as I was unpacking...
Pros: durability, design, professional performance Cons: British quirkiness, expense
I had been looking at these toasters for a while. But I always thought: Do I really need to spend $379 for a toaster? The answer, until recently, had been "no". But if you consider how much you use an appliance like this, how well it is...
Pros: Toasts bread perfectly Cons: pretty expensive for most
My husband visited the UK about 5 years ago and used this toaster. He simply had to have one and ordered it from the UK before they were manufacturing them for the States. So it took six months for him to get it because it had to be fitted with the...
Pros: Built like a tank, style, ease of use, never burn or have cold toast again! Cons: Users need to know that the switches determine whether your toast is "cooked" on one side or both sides of the bread.
I originally took interest in this product about 3 years ago when I saw a red one advertised in a Williams Sonoma catalog. The style immediately appealed to me as it would compliment my existing red retro kitchen appliances (mixer, blender, scale,...
Pros: Amazing grilled sandwiches Cons: about 100 dollars too expensive. Takes practice. Easy to forget settings for slice thickness.
I love toast. I love it so much I ordered this toaster off the internet for several hundred dollars. I realize that not all people are this serious about how perfectly toasted, dry and crisp their toast is. This toaster is for the toast die-hards. ...
Pros: Gleamingly beautiful on the counter Cons: Expensive and, after all, it is just a toaster
Although I coveted this for months before purchasing, I only did so because the Williams Sonoma outlet store in Las Vegas, Nevada was having a monthly special on the already reduced price for this "reconditioned" toaster. Please trust that I would not...
Pros: absolute simplicity, really attractive, built like a tank Cons: none that I have encountered so far
My family is serious about bread. I mean, really serious!! There was nothing more annoying than looking forward to toast only to have it come out unevenly browned, burnt, or toasted so long that it fossilized. I had bought cheap toasters, expensive ...
Pros: looks sensational on the counter Cons: both units I tried didn't work
I'd been craving this toaster for years, seeing it at Williams-Sonoma, lusting at its beauty. It reminded me of one of those handsome cars of yesteryear. Then on one of our anniversaries, my husband surprised me with the toaster. We set it on the...
Are you really considering buying this? by engineer_chick ,Jun 05 '06
Pros: I guess it's supposed to look cool? Cons: way too expensive, too big/bulky, toast is of mediocre quality
My roommate paid $300 for this toaster after fantasizing about it for a few months. I didn't even know it was possible to make such an expensive toaster, aside from encrusting it in precious jewels. I thought she was out of her mind, but was curious about the quality of toast that would come from this stainless steel beast.
I have toast every morning, and while I'm a food snob, I couldn't fathom what this toaster could do that our old cheap toaster couldn't. The answer, I discovered, was nothing. Aside from taking up a greater amount of counter space, this toaster does the same thing a $15 toaster from Target will. Maybe it will last a little longer, but I don't think that justifies the outrageous cost.
Seriously people, unless you are quite wealthy there are more worthwhile ways to spend $300.
USA Dualit not the same or bad luck by waxit ,Oct 14 '08
Pros: Simple, look good Cons: Commercial simplicity but not reliable - expensive
Brand damaging experiences for us
We moved over from England and had been Dualit buyers. Our UK four slot toaster did have issues but still worked after three years
Over $300 on a toaster which just out of warranty has cost us $125 for a timer repair
Also bought espresso and coffee maker which broke after weeks and was repaired but a lot of hassle to post etc
Bought from Expo - very unimpressed with them after a $2000 plus weber grill and the above items still did not want to help us other than pass on phone numbers with little ownership from them
Lets hope customer service a quality improve after a kick up the A$$ economy
Not good value when you think how many toasters you can get for $300 plus (or even the cost of the repair)
