  • Making Waffles Is An Absolute Art

Rated a Very Helpful Review by the Epinions community

Pros: Make a good tasting evenly cooked waffle.
Cons: You will need to play around to find your perfect method.

Summary: I have been talking about getting myself a waffle make fore years but for whatever reason, I never actually went out and got one.  Finally, I happened to be at a store that was going out of business and I located a waffle maker that had a phenomenal ... read more

  • Very poor design, there are much better available

    Pros: Absolutely none.
Cons: Trays are poorly designed, uneven heating, useless indicator light, poor finished product.

Summary: I bought this product as a replacement for a $20 no name round belgian waffle maker which burned out. I thought the brand Krups would produce a good product. I have to say using the maker for the first time I was absolutely ready to throw it out. Let ... read more

Pros: compact, easy to use, quick to heat up
    Cons: little difficult to clean

  • I'm Keeping My Other Waffle Iron (opinion on Krup's WaffleChef)

    Pros: Makes big waffles
Cons: Don't know when done cooking, it's big, handle gets hot

Summary: I have owned a waffle iron for about 10 years. It makes nice waffles & has a light that goes off when my waffle is fully cooked. Problem is there are 5 people in my family & this waffle iron just doesn’t make enough waffles at once. So I put “waffle ... read more

  • It's a wonderful day for waffles

Rated a Somewhat Helpful Review by the Epinions community
    May 9, 2000
Pros: Easy to Clean, Easy to Use
Cons: Finding Space to store it

Summary: My husband and I received our waffle maker for a X-Mas gift and thank you Santa. It is so nice to have an appliance that is so easy to use and clean. The non-stick surface is a dream for cooking; no burnt waffles, and to clean. The handle doesn't get ... read more

  • No More Frozen Waffles!

Rated a Helpful Review by the Epinions community
    Feb 12, 2000
    Pros: Cooks in 4 minutes
    Cons: None

Summary: My kids absolutely adore waffles! I had been buying them in the frozen food section of the grocery store for several years. I decided that perhaps homemade waffles would taste better, could be made more nutritious, and might possibly work out to be a bit ... read more

    Pros: Size of waffle
Cons: Doesn't last very long, heating element fries out after limited use.

Summary: I have bought two of these in 8 years. The first one I replaced after 5 years of sporadic use. The heating element "fries" out. I only used it on the average 1x per month. Thinking maybe movers jostled things, causing the damage, I bought another one 3

  • Works a Little Too Good

    Pros: Cooks fast; great styling.
Cons: Needs less cooking time and a handle that doesn't get hot.

Summary: The Krups waffle maker looks great with it's silver and black styling and nice deep pates for making thick Belgian-style waffles. It heats up fast but it cooks too long. I think a timer similar to those used on toasters would be a huge improvement.

  • This has my sons' vote of approval

Pros: Works great, cooks 4 waffles at once, attractive, stands on end, good recipes
    Cons: None really. Nice machine.

Summary: Great compact wafflemaker with good recipes. Stands on-end for easy stowage, looks good enough to leave on the counter. Operates quickly and stays clean. The non-stick surface works well-- I have not had to spray it with anything to prevent sticking.

Pros: Affordable, easy to store, heats up quickly.
Cons: Even though it is non-stick, it's a little hard to clean.

Summary: I just purchased this Krups Wafflechef Waffle Maker. It was the only waffle maker I've ever purchased so I can't compare it to any other. However, I am enjoying it. The only down sides are that you have to play around to figure out how much batter to u
