Pros: Print your photos without a computer and view them on the LCD on the printer. Cons: None, well maybe the cost!
The HP Photosmart 7550 is the top of the class for the new PhotoSmart series with a color LCD for viewing your photos and seven color printing. The 7550 gives you seven colors in three ink cartridges, one black, one tri-color and a three color photo...
Pros: Excellent detail quality, excellent overall printer, color LCD, accepts many card types Cons: Price, colors not as vibrant as other high end photo inkjets like Canon S900.
After a failed attempt to buy a PhotoSmart 7550 at $300, I just bought the unit at my local CostCo for $399 that included 200 pages of photo paper on an American Express Gold Card (so I can use the Best Value Guarantee to get back another $40-50!). The...

Pros: Great photo and general printer Cons: Eats up ink fast
When I first bought this printer, I was having a hard time deciding if I even needed a new printer at all. I've been using a basic Canon BJ-250 printer for 3 years now, for basic text printing. I knew it was getting time to upgrade, even though the old ...

Great Printer for a good price! by waltcd ,Jun 04 '05
Pros: Great photo prints, even at low quality! Easy installation of software Cons: Slow.
I looked at this printer for a long time before I got a great deal on a refurbished one - $150 at Fry's Electronics. The pictures are perfect! Even at everyday/draft print quality you get a nice looking pictures. The cost of ink is comparable to any other printer I've seen. You get a black cartridge, a Red/Blue/Yellow cartridge, and you can switch out the black for a photo gray, to get even better pictures! (I haven't done that yet) The Printer Setup has many, many features, including printing on both sides of the paper, poster format, where you can print one page onto 4, 6, or 9 pages, and put them together like a puzzle. The only thing ever bothers me is that it prints slowly. About a minute or two for each 4x5 inch picture at high quality. So, if you're looking for great quality and a good price, look no further. You've found it! 6-4-05 Walt D in LV
Pros: Quality, price of cartridges, LCD Screen options/ Cons: Could print a little more faster than it does, paper tray sometimes jams.
I have owned this printer for the last 5 years and must say that I haven't seen any other inkjet printer print at the quality that the HP Photosmart 7550 prints at. I love the DPI that it produces at, especially when printing 4x6 photos. I've never had a problem with it and it's still going strong after 5 years.
After reading reviews for HP7550, Canon i850 as well as the i950, I'd decided to buy the hp for £240.
That was 2 months ago and I believe I'd made the right choice. What the other reviewers said about the printers are spot on. Its print quality is excellent, black printing is fast as well as crisp. Photo printing, especially printing A4, is very slow but acceptable for 4 x 6.
The only down side is the cost of cartridges. After approx 20 A4 and 50 6 x 4, the photo cartridge (58) is dead, whereas the colour cartridge (57), which was a left over from my HP photosmart 100 is still going. At £18 a go, the cartridge itself isn't cheap.
