Pros: First-ever clock radio with iPod dock Cons: Lacks expected features and is poorly designed. Nano & iPod video require extra cost adapters.
As MP3s overtake CDs as the preferred way to transport music it was inevitable that an iPod clock radio would come to market. CD clock radios have been around for years. Now is the time for an iPod update. But as appealing as the concept of an iPod clock ...
Pros: Light, good sound, great value, looks nice, docking port, line-out Cons: Volume and setting controls clumsy; LCD illumination is a little too much
I bought this product about 3 days ago so I've had some time to use it. I've used it to play music via the radio and IPod (I own the 30G IPod photo which works just fine). I've used the sleep timer function and the alarm function. I'm pretty familiar ...
Pros: Great idea well executed. Qualtity, feature rich, performs better than expected. Cons: Controls are a little stiff. No included remote.
Lets face it buying an alarm clock is usually not a fun endeavor. By nature, alarm clocks are a necessary evil. Sometimes (S

Pros: reasonably priced
great design/appearance Cons: volume/tuner knob flat, hard to turn
speaker quality mediocre

expensive
The main reason I bought this dock was to charge and listen to my iPod when I go to sleep. All the other units on the market are designed as boom boxes which are a little bulky or lack good alarm features for bedside use. This unit is very sleek ...
Pros: Waking up to ipod music, radio/alarm. Cons: Poor design
Purchased this iH5 from Bed, Bath & Beyond using the 20% off coupon, purchase price was $79.99 after coupon. Controls for volume and station selection are difficult at best, they are flat circles that you push and turn. My daughter has an ipod video ...
Pros: Small, great sound, charges ipod, radio stations are easy to program. Cons:
LCD is much too bright.
This radio is great for the kitchen or desk at work. It has great sound for the price and charges my ipod too. It comes with adapters for different ipods. I have a nano and it works fine. I saw a review that says it ruined an ipod, but I don't believe ...
Very nice kitchen radio/iPod player by rainer_fuchs ,Nov 14 '05
Pros: Good sound quality, connecting an iPod is childs play Cons: Volume/Channel controls are clumsy
I recently bought this unit to get a new radio for my kitchen. So far, I'm a happy customer. Radio reception (FM and AM) is very good. The sound is clear, even when set to high volume.
Of course, you wouldn't buy this unit if all you cared about was the radio component. What attracted me was the idea that I can simply plug my iPod in when I come home, have it charged over night, and listen to my favorite songs while working in the kitchen. The unit works seamless with my 4G iPod and my son's 1G iPod (which has no docking connector but can be attached via the included cable).
Controls are easy to manage, though -- as pointed out by other reviewers -- the volume and channel knobs are HUGE.
Pros: It can quickly break your Ipod!!! Cons: Well, for $100 you'll end up having a broken Ipod!
This product broke my perfectly working ipod unit. After docking it to this unit for just 2 minutes, it started heating up and making clicking sounds. I then removed my ipod and noticed that it became unresponsive. The screen also started displaying an Ipod logo with a sad face and under it is the apple support center website. I tried resetting my unit several times but nothing happened. All it does now is make clicking sounds.
If you want to suffer the same predicament I am in right now, go ahead and test this product. Just don't expect apple to still honor your warranty later on. Clearly stated in their warranty policy is the rule of nulllifying warranty for damage caused by third party product manufacturers. Do not expect Ihome to either return your calls or answer your e mails. The customer service head I talked to just brushed my complain as if they are so used to receiving the same complains from a lot of people. He even actually admitted that there has been several case of Ihome causing some sort of malfunction to Ipods. Can you believe the nerve on this guy????
Pros: Nicely integrated design with a small footprint for a bedside table. Convenient iPod docking. Cons: Unremarkable sound. Volume/tuning knobs difficult to use. Face lighting too bright even on low level.
This first-of-its-kind clock/radio/alarm with iPod dock is a good concept, but with enough flaws that it will be worth waiting to see what other manufacturers bring to the market before spending $100 on the iH5. Mine worked fine out of the box, but within two days the speakers stopped working. The manufacturer has a 90 day return policy, but the customer must pay return shipping and a $10 handling fee. In my case, the manufacturer suggested I contact my on line retailer rather than handling the return through them. It was good advice. The retailer simply credited my account without requiring a return, advising me that I could simply run my car over the iH5, or "throw it out the window".
Pros: Design, Radio, Clock Cons: Volume control not too precise at low levels.
I saw an ad in Newsweek for this and ended up purchasing it at Bed Bath & Beyond. Price was $99, but I had a 20% off coupon, so I got it for $80 tax, which is a great deal.
I have it at work and it has been VERY nice to have. I can charge my ipod, listen to my music at work, and use the radio as well.
