IRiver restored my faith in MP3 players by bluemoon_1 ,Sep 01 '06
Pros: Small, FM tuner, fits easy in your hand, stand up to abuse Cons: Hard to use buttons, uses batteries quickly
I have gone through 3 MP3 players since I gave up listening to CD's at the gym. Each has lasted less than a year even though I was very careful with the product. The iriver has taken drops with no ill effects. That FM is also available on this player is a plus to me as I get sick of my music an that of the gym and sometimes just want to listen to the radio.
This player is small, lightweight and has a fairly easy to use interface. I find the buttons a little hard to press and use to navigate through the options. At times often wishing they were separate buttons instead of a ring that you tilt to select an option.
The shape makes it easy to fit in your hand and carry or just put in a pocket.
The window when on is easy to see and well lit yet another issue I have had with past MP3 players.
Pros: Good interface, solidly built, color screen Cons: 512 MB model won't work with Audible.com
My wife and I have, between us, gone through 5 different audio players over the years. Each has fallen apart in one way or another in a much shorter time frame than I expected. The Iriver was a little more expensive comperativly, but so far it was well worth it. It is small, easy to understand interface, and has done all that we expected of it. Our gym broadcasts TV audio via radio so having the built-in tuner has been handy as well.
