Pros: -Tons of features
-Great amp&EQ
-Internal rechargeable batteries
-High quality
-Line out
-Good Value Cons: -Battery life not great
-Only Descent ESP
-May be hard for some to operate. (complex)
I like to consider myself an audiophile on a budget; very picky about how my music and movies sound, yet a don't have a bunch of money to spend on high end audio equipment. I've been through countless CD players over the past 6 years, all of which either ...

Pros: Appearance. Remote is useful. Decent sound quality. Cons: Price. Awkward Remote buttons. Proprietary batteries (hard to replace). and more. See review.
I've had mine for about 2 years. Very solid. I've treated it like crap and it hasn't really lost any steam. The sound quality is pretty good and the real metal shell is really classy. One problem is that because its so thin it can't take AA batteries in ...

Pros: Versatile, thin, sleek, upgradeable, helpful Web site... Cons: Complex, very limited without remote, no LCD on main unit, head phones, flimsy remote...
I bought iRiver Slim X iMP-350 for two reasons: design and positive reviews. Now when I got the unit, I don't think I would've ordered it again. Don't take me wrong: it is a great CD/MP3/etc player and if you are a music enthusiast, you may really like ...

Pros: excellent remote, thin design, rechargeable batteries, many more Cons: price, doesn't come with a car kit, kinda low quality ear phones
This is by far the best mp3/cd player one could get and I don't think anyone looking for an mp3/cd player should second guess their decision to get an iriver slimx, except maybe if the price tag is a little high for them, I got mine for 170 which is a...

Pros: reads MP3, WMA, and m3u; lightweight, great remote w/LCD; firmware upgradeable Cons: nearly none
If you are looking for an MP3 CD player, this is probably your best bet now that the price has come down. The SlimX is incredibly lightweight, and I love the remote LCD with all the buttons that let you navigate, change mode, volume +/-, and so on....

Pros: Sturdy; skip-free; very functional remote; reads everything. Cons: Lots of functions for the few remote buttons (lots of learning to do).
A year ago, I bought an RCA CD/MP3 player. It was terrible (and whenever I was at an electronics store and saw someone considering it, I warned them off). Still, the thing worked, more or less. But I was not a happy camper with it.
When I...

Pros: long battery life
easy to navigate
very cheap
beautiful design
firmware upgradable
fm tuner Cons: door not very tight, wobbles a bit, and possibly let sand in at beach trip
it's difficult to decide what kind of personal audio player to buy with so many different types on the market. it seems like an average cd-player that does nothing else just no longer cuts it, and the reason why is because of machines like this.

Pros: Design, functionality, ease of use, battery duration (with ext. batt.), remote usefulness Cons: lettering, loading time, lack of functions without remote
This is an excellent CD player, nicely designed, functional, and easy to use. I'm relatively good with technology, though, and someone less savy might have a little bit of trouble. The remote is very well designed, with all of the information that you...

Pros: Battery Power, sound, compactness Cons: No display on unit
I just ditched an older SonicBlue RioVolt. This machine runs circles over the SonicBlue, but it is a very much newer model to be fair. Set-up of the machine is quite easy and you're up and running in a few minutes. I am a very simple user of this...

Pros: Tiny, well constructed, good sound. Cons: No car kit
Want MP3, but can't choose between flash memory and hard-disc based? Get an MP3-CD instead. Much more capacity than any flash MP3 unit, and much better priced than a hard-disc MP3 player. Plus you can play conventional CDs too. A single CD packs...

Pros: Very solid design, excellent sound and virtually skip free. Cons: Price.
In my quest to find the perfect mp3 player I initially and mistakenly bought a very very bad unit. True the Emerson cd/mp3 player I bought had a great price ($79) but as you all well know you get what you paid for and this was no exception. Boy did it...

Pros: Great Sound, small package, rechargable batteries. Cons: Tiny remote, barely enough volume, complicated operations.
OK, I love this thing. It sounds great and has built-in rechargable Li-Ion batteries, but I have to tell you, the remote is itsy bitsy tiny.
The screen on the remote is slightly larger than a digital watch display. I need reading glasses...

Pros: great features, quality construction, and reasonable price. Cons: lousy bag!
this thing is pretty cool.
right off the bat, i was impressed with the construction of this player. the cord connections are well designed to avoid excess stress on the remote/phones cord and external battery pack, and the internal battery...

Pros: Amazing REMOTE also backlit, MP3/WMA/ASF support..firmware upgradeable. Excellent headphones. Metal top construction. Cons: no display on player body
Awesome remote..easy to use you can be playing right away. More detailed menu navigation may require some manual reading but the manual is good...a few grammar/spelling issues but not too bad.
The display gives track number, time, folder, ID3...

Pros: Great remote control, slim, solid performance and sound and skip free. Excellent aesthetics. Firmware upgrade. Cons: The headphones: uncomfortable, weak bass and has the world's shortest wire.
I have had the SlimX for almost a year now and I have to say that whenever I see someone else on the bus or on the street with another portable CD/MP3 player, no matter how fancy or how beautiful theirs looks, I always think - "It's not a SlimX!"
