Pros: The use of light-hearted humor rather than simply gags and bathroom jokes. Also shows that men don't have to be macho to be cute. For example, Tommy cooing over a puppy in 'Stage Fright' episode.
Cons: Merton seems to be struggling alone with his unpopularity. I'd like to see Tommy help out with boosting Merton's self-esteem a little more often.
