Pros: A phenomenal value for a world class hotel. Cons: While elegant, the pool is a little small.
Summary: If you are staying in Bangkok and love a hotel you can relax in after a full day of sightseeing, look no further. Located across the river from the Mandarin Oriental this hotel is spacious, friendly and elegant for a reasonable price. Our room with a ... read more

Pros: Wonderful service and rooms Cons: None
Summary: travelled to Bangkok (April 2008) for the first part of my honeymoon, we decided that if we were going to Thailand we had to see the capital just to say we had done it. We arrived in our taxi on the opposite side of the river to the peninsula, and ... read more

Pros: beautiful rooms, friendly atmosphere and workers Cons: located across the river
Summary: My husband and I stayed at the Bangkok Peninsula in October 2003. I had never stayed in a Peninsula hotel before, but I had walked around the one in Hong Kong where the workers made me feel like a second class citizen, so I wasn't expecting the workers ... read more

Pros: Food, pool, service, view, room. Cons: leaving
Summary: I loved it. I wish it had it's own spa but it's next door to a great one! The food is really good on site which is good because there aren't that many places convenient to the hotel. The rooms are way above good-they are not at all the standard ... read more

Pros: Clean, luxurious hotel with more than you'd expect! Cons: Leave the compound or look out the window and you'll be surprised!
Summary: I was pleasantly surprised every minute of my stay at the Peninsula. Before we get into the whole story, here's some history to put things into perspective:
- I went there in Sept 2000 for 5 nights
- I was on an "independent" tour with private ... read more

Pros: Ultra modern luxury, great service Cons: Location inconvenient (other side of river)
Summary: One gets used to luxury in Bangkok's first rate hotels. Peninsula does not disappoint, though the across-river location is a big minus. So is the open sewer that carries garbage into the river right past the swimming pool/sunning area. However, rooms ... read more

Pros: Unbelievable rooms, pleasant service, good location Cons: Too far away from the US for frequent visits!
Summary: I'm pretty frugal by nature, but my one indulgence is travel. I've also travelled a fair amount for work. As a result, I've stayed in some of the best hotels in the world. The Peninsula Bangkok ranks right up there in the top two or three I've ever ... read more

Pros: Pleasant location by the river. Cons: No lounge area. Meals not hot.
Summary: This should be the sister to the renowned Hong Kong, Kowloon Peninsula, but has a lot to do to bring things into a reasonable comparison. When I saw that the hotel was rated at 4, and not 5 stars, I assumed that somebody was being over-cautious, but I ... read more

Pros: Just everything Cons: Not one!!
Summary: The Peninsula Hotel in Bangkok set the standards against which I will always judge other hotels. I have no hope that any will ever exceed this standard.
