Pros: Location Cons: Everything else
Summary: London is probably the foreign city where I've been more often. The first time I was in London I was 12, and went with my parents. After that, I can not count the number of times I've been there.
Being only 2 and a half hours distance from ... read more

Pros: Rooms, amenities, service, dining, bars, gym. Cons: Expensive.
Summary: I really enjoyed the two times I stayed at the Savoy hotel. Upon entering the beautiful marble lobby, you are made to feel completely welcome. There's no snobbery or pretension, and the staff do everything they can to cater to you. On my first visit, I ... read more

Pros: Outstanding service. Wonderful food. Great location. A good nights sleep. Clean and beautiful. History. Cons: You get what you pay for. The Savoy is expensive, but then London is expensive.
Summary: We took a train down to London from Scotland. Upon our arrival at the station there was a large crowd and extra security. We chose to not try for a cab and walk to the Savoy which my husband promised was only a few blocks. Much later we arrived ... read more

Pros: Knowledgable wine steward; good decor (minus tourists and odor); I didn't pay the bill Cons: Overpriced; touristy; subpar food; horrible service; unappetizing odor
Summary: I am reviewing here the restaurant "Simpson's in the Strand," not the Savoy Hotel as a hotel per se (which, by the way, is now part of the Fairmont chain). Summary: If I could give this gastronomical nightmare zero stars on all counts, I would. The ... read more

Pros: Aww Gosh you stayed at the Savoy! Cons: Not really worth the money.
Summary: I have only stayed at the Savoy once, but I must say the best two things about the whole experience was the enormous shower they have mounted above the enormous tub, and the chicken soup. The hotel has a very old and dusty beat up feel to it. Even ... read more

Pros: Value for money Cons: Staff could be a little bit more attentive
Summary: Having taken afternoon tea in London in various hotels and at different costs I can safely say that the best value for money is at the Savoy. It is not the most glamorous, I think that accolade goes to the Dorchester but the quantity and quality of food ... read more

Pros: Great Location Cons: Old...and not what I expect
Summary: I recently stayed at The Savoy Hotel London on June 17, 2002 as part of a business trip. I was booked in the Savoy by an office assistant upon recommendation of the local London office of my company. Others were jealous...but it turns out they didn't ... read more

Pros: High tea is a unique experience for Americans Cons: Husband became deathly ill after eating there.
Summary: I can only speak about high tea at the Savoy. I made reservations at the highly touted Savoy before we started the vacation, we anticipated it throughout the trip. I can say that the tea itself was mildly pleasant, the food was average but pretty. The ... read more
