Buffalo and Niagara Falls are a short plane journey away from New York City. It was something that came as quite a pleasant shock when planning our US tour. I dont think many people from the UK realise just how close it is and that it is very easy ...
Pros: We don't have to go back Cons: Spa, room, service, food, location, atmosphere, furniture, price
My wife and I spent the second week of our honeymoon at Les Fermes de Marie after a rather pleasant week in Zermatt at Hotel Alex. The short version is that there is just about nothing redeemable about the hotel or Megeve and worst of all, everything is ...
Pros: Location - at least it's close to the Casino and some good restaurants. Cons: Only half view if you get a 500 level room
NOT really connected to Casino.
Okay - so we live 2 hours from Niagara Falls, yes I know, you're ALL jealous. Rigggghhhtt??? lol My wife and I decided to take a night away from the boy and went to N.F. for a quick night of drinking, gambling, and more drinking. The hotel was ...
Pros: Luxurious, atmospheric, cozy, great service, good food, pretty village... Cons: Have to plan ahead - it gets booked up, and the snow is unreliable.
There is nowhere quite like the Fermes de Marie. After a lifetime travelling - more than fifty countries at work and play - it is the hotel where I have felt most relaxed and at home.
The hotel is a small hamlet of old, wooden mountain...
Pros: Perfect rooms, perfect setting, perfect food and service ... in a word, perfect! Cons: So popular its very hard to get into. Need to book far in advance.
I don't really think of this hotel as a spa - in fact the spa facilities, although good, are not really outstanding. A better massage can be found elsewhere. Yet this is truly a wonderful and memorable resort. It is the flagship hotel of Mégève's leading...
Pros: See the falls from your window - just as advertised Cons: in-house restaurant pricey for most families
There is a small suite that sleeps a family of 6 in two beds + a pullout separated by french doors. Requested extra pillow or duvet, which was quickly and cheerfully delivered. Kids liked the window view to the falls. and the whirlpools next to the pool. I liked the workout room and sauna.
Surprisingly, the valet parking was convenient, mainly because it is well staffed with polite Canadians. One even jogged across the street to fetch my car. Easy access from the lobby to a short tram which descends to the falls at Table Rock (Journey Behind the Falls & people mover), after 9 AM.
Reasonably priced breakfast just around the corner to the right, or down the street to the right.
