Cathedral Hill Hotel

I stayed here for one night to go to a concert.  I found the hotel overall to be good, but some things about it were irritating.  Price:  This was ultimately what led us to stay here-we booked two for less than $70 a night each ...

Pros: Room is pretty spacious
Cons: Rude service

The people who work here are extremely rude. They roll their eyes at you and seem to not want to do what they're paid for. They answer the phone with a lazy "hello?" They did not pick up our breakfast order from the door knob the night before, so we had to order it in the morning. They didn't bring us all that we ordered. They mix-up reservations, and did not hand out gifts that the bride gave them to give to her arriving guests. This was the worst hotel I've been to.

Pros: they had a package that included overnight parking for an additional $9.00, a real bargain.
Cons: Dumpy rooms, unresponsive staff.

I entered the hotel from Geary Blvd., and had to circle 3 times before I could figure out how to enter the underground parking lot - it's on Van Ness. There is no valet available.

The lobby looks quite nice, so the initial impression was good. The rooms are dingy, the walls had torn wallpaper, stained carpeting, chipped paint. The bed was hard as a rock. The hair drier in the bathroom didn't work, and it took the staff 45 minutes to bring me one from housekeeping.

I phoned down to the front desk to complain to a Manager and was transfered to 3 different people, none of whom were a manager. I was then told the Manager wasn't in yet.

I would not return here under any circumstances.
