Pros: Window seat excellent for views and fellatio Cons: Valet parking $40 per night
One of the dubious rewards I get for spending too many nights in hotel rooms is the opportunity to stay even more nights in hotel rooms. As a member of the Starwood Preferred Guest program, I rack up credits by taking dull business trips to boring...
Pros: Very comfortable rooms, great seating area, trendy crowd Cons: A bit Pricey
Recently, I have had the chance of stay at the W Hotel San Francisco. In my opinion, Starwood group (Westin, St Regis, Sheraton, W, Luxury Collection) has some of the best hotels in the country. I usually only stay with them since they offer excellent ...
Pros: Adequate rooms; fantastic view of the city; well-maintained Cons: Too expensive for what's offered; too much "nickel & diming" customers
I recently went to San Francisco for a business conference held at the W Hotel, 3rd & Howard Streets in the “SOMA”—South of Market---area. Travel time from the San Francisco airport, on a Sunday night, was about 35 minutes.
I have to take slow deep breaths whenever I think about the "Dubya" San Fran, even though it's now five months since I got back from my trip (in June 2000). Not just because of the mind-blowing bill at the end of my 8 day stay, but because of...
My wife and I stayed here for a few days while on our honeymoon in SF. My first impression was that I couldn't help but think that the staff there looked like they were out of an episode of the old SNL skit Sprockets. They are dressed in black from...
Pros: Not your ordinary hotel, a bit more "homey" Cons: The lighting is sparse.
Am I the only one who likes the W San Francisco? I had an opportunity to stay here for a week in early January 2001 while attending the MacWorld conference at the Moscone Center, which couldn't be more conveniently located across the street from the W....
Pros: everything from food, atmosphere, and service Cons: the turn-in for the valet was hard to see and somewhat narrow
As a member of the united states army i am used to crappy living conditions but the w was such a breath of fresh air in every way shape and form. first i was traveling with someone who was in a wheelchair and the in san fran that is no easy task but ...
Pros: Nice location Cons: Overpriced; very pretentious; thin walls.
I was able to get a discount on a room at the W. I am glad I did not pay the full rack rate (~$350 at the time I stayed there), else I would have felt very ripped off even if I didn't partake of the $6 pringles.
The rooms are OK. There is...
Pros: Great atmosphere, large rooms, friendly staff Cons: Pricy
I stay at the W in San Francisco often with my friend. We truly enjoy our time. One thing that makes the W in San Francisco stand out to me is the atmosphere. I love the party and social life. It's nice to have a hotel that feels like you are stepping into a first class lounge. The lighting, music and layout of the hotel make for a great retreat without missing out on the nightlife.
The service is great and the food is a bit pricy, however good. I was taken back at the cost of the snacks in the room seeing there are several stores in walking distance that will sell you a bag of gummy bears for less that $1.00 and the W charges around $7 plus tax, restocking and convenience fee. Suddenly those delectable treats just don't seem worth it.
