Pros: Beautiful grounds and path to beach, ok room, great ocean front location. Honu. Cons: Pay for parking ($5), smallish room, spooky abandoned resort in view on the south side
Even though it's been a while, I'd like to share my experience at the Keauhou Beach Resort. My boyfriend and I stayed there in August of 2002 and had a great time. The Deal I research stuff like crazy and like to make sure I'm getting a deal. ...
Pros: beautiful ocean-front setting, turtles, nice rooms Cons: level of service
This hotel is, by and large, a very nice place to stay. The rooms were recently renovated, and they are spacious, attractively decorated, and well furnished. The closets are big enough to hold 2 suitcases worth of clothes, and there is ample (granite)...
Pros: clean, great views, tide pools, friendly staff, good food. Cons: small pool. Not right in Kailua-Kona, if that is what you are looking for.
The Ohana Keauhou Beach Resort on the Big Island is a first-class, oceanfront hotel that is moderately priced. It is in a quiet area in Kona right next to the best snorkeling beach for miles around. The Rooms The rooms are clean and bright wit ...
Pros: Beautiful views of the ocean Cons: Ok rooms, parking $5/day, restaurant food - poor
My husband and I went to Hawaii (The Big Island) for our long waited for honeymoon. We spent 8 or more hours on the internet finding the least expensive way to get there and still be able to afford activities. We found the Ohana Keauhou Beach Resort ...
Our 2nd trip to Big Island. Our wedding & reception was held at this location, now known as the Outrigger Keauhou Beach Resort (changed names about 1-2 yrs ago). We stayed here only one night, but 10+ of our family & friends stayed on location. As ...
Pros: Clean, pretty, oceanfront. Little bit o' heaven. Cons: Downtown Kona has traffic and Wal Mart. Sad...
I'm very surprised that there is only one review of this resort. First of all, it is now an Outrigger resort. I stayed there last year-in Jan 2005, and am returning next week in 2006. I found it to be a bargain paradise-hope it remains the same. ...
Pros: Great sunset cocktails, tide pools, best snorkeling, beautiful grounds. Cons: Pools was small but there is this thing called the ocean to swim in.
This is the hotel that I proposed to my fiance at. Need I say more? The grounds here are impecable. It is truly what Hawaii is all about. The tide pools all around the hotel are some of the most amazing things to look at. The fish and turtles there are incredible. You can sit and have a drink or dinner and be directly about the larger pool and watch the sunset and the the sealife all at once. This hotel has it all. The rooms were nice but not overly nice. They were clean and well kept. But not that it matters because we were never in our rooms. Right next to the hotel is probebly the best snorkeling spot on the island. We spent the big bucks to go on a snorkel trip and found the beach right next to the hotel to be a hundred times better. The food there was between good and great. The breakfast buffet was exactly what it should be. Lots of food and a great atmosphere. Dinner was alright but a bit pricey. The location was great. Just a short jaunt to downtown Kona, maybe a mile or two.
