Pros: A great location on famous Waikiki Beach. Cons: Very little sand area; rentals are expensive.
We recently spent 3 weeks in Hawaii. Our last island was Oahu where we stayed at the Sheraton Waikiki. This final stop was the location of the conference at which my husband presented a paper so the rates we got were conference rates. ...
Pros: Location (beachfront, Diamond head view, access to Waikiki); Value (if using promotions) Cons: Beach can be crowded, but that's not the hotel's fault.
Sheraton Waikiki is conveniently located near the beginning of the main strip in Waikiki. For a famous chain hotel, it is not a bad value, especially if you can get one of their frequent promotions (the most common being the '5th night free' program). ...
Pros: Excellent location Cons: Manor wing is a tiny college dorm room
My wife and I spent three days in Honolulu in November 2004. The Sheraton Waikiki is actually two very different hotels, the large curved tower and the manor wing. It is very unfair to compare the two so I will provide a review of the common areas shared ...
Pros: Great location, nice updated rooms, fabulous view for classic Waikiki hotel Cons: Crowds, nickel-and-dime approach by nicer (pricier) hotels to charge for little everything (internet?!)
I recently stayed at the Sheraton Waikiki (our first trip to Hawaii!) for four nights while my sister was attending a conference. Location. Location. Location. ARRIVAL/CHECK-IN/SERVICE:
the drop point from the airport shuttle could ...
Pros: Location, Good Value, Service Cons: Crowded, Noisy, Restaurants
Recently my wife and I went on our honeymoon to the Hawaiian Islands. Visited Oahu, Kauai, and Maui, in that order (Check out my reviews for the hotels on those islands).
In Oahu we stayed at the Sheraton Waikiki, which is really the heart...
Pros: 3 feet from beach in the heart of Waikiki. Tons of "free" activities Cons: Like walking in a shopping mall
The Sheraton Waikiki is a large hotel located on Royal Hawaiian Drive in the heart of Waikiki beach. It is literally steps from the beach and you can see the ocean surf at ground level from the lobby (a most impressive sight). There are two sections ...
Pros: Great staff and customer service and location. Cons: Extremely hectic in lobby area.
My husband and I stayed three nights at the Sheraton Waikiki in Sept. 2004. Getting to the hotel from the airport was a shock to us especially after a week and a half of stress-free driving on the Big Island and Maui. Read your map before embarking to ...
I traveled to Hawaii in October of last year on business and took my 24 year old daughter with me. We stayed at the Sheraton Waikiki and had a marvelous time. The rooms were well-appointed, and a small refrigerator was available for the asking, which...
My husband and I stayed at the Sheraton Waikiki in October of 2000. The hotel is located right in the middle of everything: on Waikiki beach, shops, bus/cab stops, and restaurants. You would not need to rent a car if you stay at this place. Every room...
NOT what I expected from a Sheraton by barbarellie ,Jul 25 '06
Pros: Location, pretty lobby Cons: Cockroaches, rude staff, no beach, crummy pool.
I'm really more of a Hilton kind of gal, but I attended a conference last December at the Sheraton Waikiki, and stayed there as well. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement! There were COCKROACHES all over the trashbin/call-button area in the middle of the elevator bank area on my floor (the 10th, I think). I called to complain, but no one seemed to care. Also, the fitness center didn't open on time once during the week I was there. I was treated pretty rudely by the front desk staff during both check-in and check-out (different people each time!). There's no real beach in front of this hotel, and the pool is really blah. The location is good, but that's about it.
Pros: Outstanding location right on beach Cons: Self Parking garage charge, mediocre rooms, smell in hallways
We just returned from 5 days at the Sheraton Waikiki. We loved the location of the hotel - right on the beach and in the middle of everything. Staff was professional, but didn't go out their way to be helpful. We were a little turned off by the $10.00 daily fee to park your rental car. Rooms were decent, could be updated though along with the carpet and the smells in the hallways. I think they were a bit overpriced for what they are, but it is Hawaii after all! No hot tub to be found at this hotel, and the pools are small - but hey, that is what the ocean is for, and is literally steps away from the hotel.
The Sheraton could have been one of the best in Waikiki. Great beach, great service, decent rooms, excellent views, easy access to shopping, etc. But it ruins all this with a disco that nearly drowns out the rolling waves... even from ocean-front balconies. Worse yet, the music plays till midnight.
Judging from the crowds, this is one of the more popular nighttime entertainment venues along the beach. So it probably won't be closing down anytime soon.
If you're looking for a quiet, relaxing Hawaii vacation, there are better choices than the Sheraton.
