Pros: Hyatt reservations, amenities and good conference facilities. Cons: Food, ambiance and physical plant not up to Hyatt standard.
It has been nearly two weeks since my overnight stay at this hotel in conjunction with a fairly intense seminar. I had better get some thoughts together before the bland experience fades even more from view. In this economy, I hesitate to say anyhting ...
Pros: Plenty of in-house amenities; within walking distance of many Boston attractions. Cons: Surrounding location may intimidate some; desk staff attitude can be iffy.
BACKGROUND: The Swissotel chain was once owned by Swissair and it was that airline's "official" hotel. In 2001, Swissair's financial difficulties caused the chain to be sold to Raffles International. UPDATE 2005 - This hotel is now part of the Hyatt ...
Pros: A roof over your head and there are no bed bugs...at least that I noticed. Cons: Bad attitude, bad housekeeping, bad vibes.
When they were handing out attitude, indifference and incompetence, the folks at Swissôtel Boston kicked down the door, knocked everyone in line to the ground and stormed the place. They scooped up bucketfuls of "I could give a rat's @ss," and, "Oh…you...
Pros: good central location, pleasant and helpful staff Cons: physical condition of rooms, not the most elegant of Hyatts
I recently concluded a stay at this hotel for a three-day professional conference I was attending. The primary conference hotels over at the Hynes Convention/Pru Center were booked, so I wound up taking advantage of a special (well, not-so-special....) ...
Pros: Beautifully furnished rooms, gorgeous lobby, huge & comfortable beds, excellent service Cons: We couldn't get hot water in the shower one morning.
My boyfriend and I decided to visit Boston for the first time last February. We found a good deal on one of those discount-travel websites, for $129 per night at the Swissotel Boston. We felt great, because prices normally run from $300-$1000....
Pros: Conveniently located, good accommodations; friendly staff Cons: Usually very pricey--we got good deal; Watch out where you go after dark.
Never having been to Boston, I was clueless where to stay. Everyone told me not to plan on driving there (they were right) so I knew we'd be relying on the T (subway).
The Swissotel sounded like it was convenient to where we needed to be for our...
Pros: Beautiful furnishings, full amenities, in the middle of everything Cons: High priced, parking not provided by hotel.
I got a great deal on Priceline for this hotel. The hotel normally charges 300 dollars per night and I was able to get a room for 75 dollars per night. I was a little nervous about finding the hotel because driving in Boston is a nightmare, but as soon...
Pros: Clean, beautiful rooms Cons: Location, very pricey
A Boston native, I have stayed at the Swissotel and attended functions there several times. While the inside of the hotel is beautiful, this does not compensate for the rates they command for the area in which it is located. For a business stay, the...
Pros: Within walking distance of it all, very clean, spacious room Cons: very snobby attitude, most rooms don't have too great of a view.
Me and my boyfriend decided that it would not be too bad of an idea to drive to Boston one weekend, seeing how I've always wanted to go there. What we didn't take into consideration is that we had not made reservations-and it was St. Patrick's Day.It was...
Pros: convenient location, rooms available at last minute Cons: clueless desk staff and concierge
We booked this hotel at the last minute in July '00 for a quick weekend trip. I was hesitant to stay at this hotel as my husband recalled having had a bad experience there several years ago during a business trip. However, I gave it a try anyway since...
Pros: Beautiful guest rooms, great staff, EXCELLENT LOCATION! Cons: The outside is drab, not much of a view from the rooms
Most of the reviews here are VERY old - PLEASE MAKE NOTE: When Hyatt bought this hotel from Swissotel in 2004 (or maybe 2003) they performed an entire renovation and this hotel is LOVELY. The rooms are wonderful - VERY comfortable beds, flat screen TVs, ...
Pros: Good Location in the center of Boston Cons: Rooms are a little small
We stayed at the Swissotel last weekend and I have to say that I do not have a bad thing to say about it. The location is great, you can walk just about anywhere, and the hotel is pretty nice inside. The only odd thing I have to say about it is that...
Pros: Heavenly bed, great breakfast buffet Cons: none
One night stay prior to taking a cruise. It was great. Upgraded to the regency floor. Although the hotel does not have a regency club yet, they offered us complimentary coupons for breakfast. Breakfast included all hot items plus fruit, pastry, coffee, ...
Hyatt Regency Boston Financial by gac_1959 ,Apr 24 '04
Pros: Clean, free copy of Globe, close to T, close to Common. Cons: TOBACCO SMOKE, No free parking, no free bagels&juice for breakfast.
Made a reservation here for 3 nights surrounding the Boston Marathon, as
it is convenient to the finish area and other central locations. Like others,
had a non-smoking room reserved but was told only smoking rooms were
available. "Please check back tomorrow and we will try to move you" was
all I got. Suffice to say all my stuff smells like smoke now, after 3 nights
in the same room.
Weird layout where the lobby is on the 3rd floor, up one elevator ride from the street. The location is both great (close to the Common and Theatre and Financial districts) and terrible (pretty dicey late at night).
