Pros: Great front desk staff and some amenities... Cons: ...but the rooms are sparse and the location may unsettle some travelers.
To stay at the remodeled Millennium Hotel in lower Manhattan requires a sort of emotional distance from the September 11 terrorist attacks in New York. The hotel stands directly before the former site of the World Trade Center. From rooms positioned ...
Pros: Views of the World Trade Center, high tech amenities in the refurbished rooms. Cons: Financial District Location is WELL AWAY from the tourist attractions in NYC.
We just stayed three nights at the Millenium, which is right across the street from the former World Trade Center. It's rated 4 Diamonds by AAA. We chose to stay here because of the location, but remember for a weekend visit, if you'll be spending much ...
Pros: Close to financial (downtown) district, big TVs, nice beds. Cons: Over-priced, very average rooms, hopeless room service, nasty buffet breakfast.
After getting the opportunity for a late-notice Xmas shopping break in NYC, the Hilton Millennium stood out from the reviews on various websites as being the best of the bunch. As I was booking in early December for a mid-December stay, my options were ...
Pros: Great Location next to Ground Zero, Plazma TV and nice bed. TV internet access. Cons: None!
I stayed in the Millenium Hilton with my girlfriend in October 2004. We stayed on a Saturday and a Sunday. We got a great rate from the Hilton web page. They had a web saver rate and in my opinion it was a steal ($250 a night with all taxes). During the ...
Pros: Modern rooms with plasma tv
Location Cons: Expensive
Made me pay twice!
Overlooking ground zero
I stayed here March 25 - 29 2004. Guys, this hotel is fabulous. A huge, imposing dark, glassy building, with about 50 odd floors. The lobby is quite impressive, and the staff (receptionists, concierge etc) are helpful, well informed and well trained! ...
Pros: They did not steal my entire wallet, just the cash. Cons: Extremely poor security.
I stayed at the Hilton Millenium on business for 3 nights during the week of December 8, 2003. On one of the nights a few coworkers dropped their bags off in my room while we went out for drinks. We left our bags and I grabbed some cash and left my ...
Pros: generous amenities, convenient location, good value Cons: slow elevator.
We stayed here on a friday night in November 2003. We made the reservations the night before as we wanted to stay another night in New York and didn't want to stay in the loud hotel we were presently staying in. We were surprised to get a low rate of ...
Pros: Beautiful modern rooms with sweeping views. Great beds. Cons: Bizarre charges placed on bill. Skip the overpriced breakfast.
I stayed at the newly reopened Millenium Hilton during Labor Day weekend. I have never been in Lower Manhattan before, and was primarily staying there now because of a conference I was attending in Brooklyn. I received a rate of $135 a night, which I cons ...
Pros: All newly renovated. Great lower Manhattan starting point of discovery. Cons: Remote internet service was slow and difficult to use.
I had called the Millenium in December as to when they would be reopening. They said in the spring. I have called a few times since. Again they said soon. I just received today, April 29, an Email from Hilton stating they are now open again. I'll ...
Pros: Tall building, great location, Krispy Kreme Cons: Tasteless decor, horrible Health club, no ethernet
This in short is the worst HILTON hotel I have ever stayed in. Don't let all that mumbo jumbo about the futuristic look and the name fool you. The decor is tacky and outdated, cheap and tasteless.
Beautiful renovation and incredible views by tflyer99 ,Oct 15 '03
Pros: Incredible views, nicely furnished rooms and cool flat screen TV's Cons: Rooms are on the small side
I took advantage of the special rate of $135 for myself and fiance.
The hotel has a cool sleek look from the outside and the recent renovation was superb. This hotel was considered in danger of collapsing after 9/11 due to it's proximity to the World Trade Center.
The cheaper rooms face directly onto the WTC site and it is very moving to look out late at night and think back to the horrors that took place.
The rooms themselves are on the small size and a room service cart could not get past the entrance. Decor is very modern with quality furnishings all around. The large flat screen TV is a nice amenity and this was the first time I have seen this in a hotel. Bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was also nicely appointed.
Room service food was quick and tasty. The restaurant also served good quality tasty food. We visited the gym and pool and they both look very clean. I highly recommend this hotel.
