I love this magazine! For my money, American Angler is the fly-fishing magazine of choice!
by danielw ,Jan 12 '04
Pros: Well laid out. Very professional look and feel. Articles that I'm truly interested in. Cons: American Angler is bi-monthly. I'd like to enjoy it more often!
I enjoy reading about fly-fishing almost as much as I enjoy fly-fishing itself. Okay, that's a bit of an exaggeration, but I truly do enjoy it. I've read many issues of the most popular fly-fishing magazines.
I think what makes American Angler stand out for me is that it focuses on U.S. streams, flies, and tactics. I'm convinced that the same things used to catch fish in Argentina or Belize will catch fish here, but I don't live in Argentina or Belize and don't anticipate visiting there anytime soon. Somehow, American Angler seems to do the best job of providing well-written and informative articles that grab and hold my interest.
