Pros: More or less the same as any other rag in this category Cons: At the bottom of its particular heap
I have to give Bride Again some sort of credit: they saw a substantial niche market with little marketing targeted toward it, and went after it. The hack job that is the result is a curious testament to the sheer power of the wedding industry:...
Pros: none Cons: Same as any other Bridal magazine
I bought the magazine because I am getting married for the second time. I was looking for suggestions for an informal, simple wedding. Unique ideas for a second marriage. It is a smaller version of any other Bridal magazine I have bought such as Modern...
Pros: Fills a need that was not filled before. Cons: Disregards the younger encore bride.
Bride Again describes itself as "the only magazine for encore brides." Their published aim is to offer advice and fashion tips to the woman who is getting re-married. Speaking as a woman planning to get married for a second time I can...
Pros: None Cons: Plenty. Forgot about the encore bride again.
I thought this magazine was a good idea, too. The previous reviewer is right. Also, I thought they would be showing more alternatives to wedding attire for mature brides getting married again. Instead all I see is fashions for brides getting married for the first time. In Columbus, Ohio I can't even find this magazine anymore. Not even in book stores like Barnes and Noble or B. Dalton.
I have to totally agree with the other reviewer on this one. I purchased a copy of this magazine three years ago. Now I am engaged (second time around for both of us), and I thought to look into it again. The website has the same three dresses I saw in the magazine three years ago!! When I saw it on the news stand I though it was a great concept, but horribly disapointed to see they have done a very poor job of it. And what a niche market that could have taken by storm with a little creativity!! I for one plan to wear chocolate brown satin and carry orange roses, we will probably honeymoon in Main, and have a reception at a nice restaurant...I doubt very seriously they have ever considered such any such ideas. And as for the bad advice that doesn't even consider Catholic brides - I was astounded to see an article saying that a pre-nuptual agreement is a good idea!! Do they have any idea that such an agreement automatically makes a Catholic marriage invalid?!! Do they care? Apparently not... I won't be buying this one again.
