Pros: Good articles on topics that don't provide advice on picking stocks or general economy Cons: Repeated horrible "advice" from "experts" that don't understand basic math, agenda-driven content
I normally don't write magazine reviews, but I cannot remain a bystander. I have subscribed to the Forbes for a year and did not renew my subscription. There is a reason for this.About the Magazine Forbes magazine is a ...
Pros: Insightful business reading written by top-notch journalists Cons: Frequently out of stock in first class cabins world-wide
Okay...I admit it. I fly in first class...a lot. Why? Because my profession requires me to practically live in the air and the airlines pamper their most frequent flyers. What does this have to do with Forbes magazine? Well....guess what's the first...
The magazine I am reviewing today is called “Forbes.” This is a very well written magazine. I say this because the articles in it always stimulate me to buy another one. This magazine is so great that I often find myself literally waiting for the next...
Pros: Great writing, very insightful Cons: Conservative
The impression I had of Forbes for many years is of a stuffy, conservative magazine for old money types. But over the years (reading the magazine on long airline trips) I was again and again impressed by how such short articles (most of the items...
Pros: Hardcore business strategy for serious business managers Cons: If you read Forbes, you'll soon realize how uninformed the rest of the world likes to be.
Ok - I'm a nerd. I have read Forbes cover to cover since I was 17 (My dad's copy). I am now 43, and have successfully built and sold a small business. I attribute much of my success to Forbes.
Pros: Good general business magazine, lots of informative articles Cons: Articles can get a bit dry, focuses too much on global business economics
Forbes magazine has always been a top contender in the business class world. It's one of those magazines that cover a vast quantity of information packed between it's pages. Although it's not for everybody -- or every business reader.
Pros: Excellent source of industry/workplace information, Extremely valuable information Cons: None
Forbes is one of the many magazines that I avidly read to give me the competive edge in my career industry, as well as, give me the information that I can use in normal business to customer face to face meetings. (Small talk discussion).
Pros: Top notch, Internet, new economy, great writers Cons: Who can say anything against the best you can get here?
Forbes magazine is in its own league. It has something to offer to everybody: the serious business men, the new startup entrepreneurs, the kids with the hit idea waiting to conquer the hill, the Silicon Valley or Silicon Alley.
Pros: Relevant, investigative reports about global businesses Cons: None that I can think of
Steve Forbes, the heir to Malcolm Forbes, continues his father's good style and relevancy with Forbes Magazine. The magazine comes off as conservative, but in many ways it is an investigative reporting magazine. Their articles often question the...
Pros: Provides an insight into the sick, twisted faith of Evangelical Republicans. Cons: News articles that prove false *disappear*.
After many years of seeing conservatives read this magazine, I decided to give it a serious shot. I've flipped through it before, but never really gave it a good going-over. Even Subscribers Don't Read It Step one in the evaluation was to see ...
Pros: Great insight into business trends Cons: Subscribers are the last ones to hear about it.
I've been a subscriber to Forbes magazine for over a year now and I can honestly say it's worth the investment. Even with its quality content, it is lacking in a couple of areas.
Great Business Content
If you have any interest in...
Pros: Generally clear, concise writing Cons: A lot of advertising
This magazine is a compendium of financial facts and insights which should be on every investors' desk. It contains useful advice on companies both new and old, trends in the marketplace, and my personal favourite issue, the "Forbes...
Pros: Its presentability, online availability Cons: Could cover a wider range of topics
Forbes online - since that is the only way I access the magazine - is outstanding in the way it presents its material. I have tens of links to business news sources from my personal webpage of newslinks, but I keep coming back to Forbes because it...
Pros: Fresh perspectives (at least to me !); SPECIAL issues ! Cons: Did not like their opinion of eBay !
I "LIKE" Forbes.....and I am not/was not particularly a fan of the publisher running for President.....but his father certainly could be among some of "my" favorite people !
Pros: Timely articles; friendly toward mavericks; quotations on the last page of each issue Cons: Price
One of the first magazines to which I ever subscribed when I moved into my first apartment in July 1997 was Forbes. My subscription followed me to my second and third apartments, but I lost the subscription on moving to my current apartment....
