Pros: Great reading and entertaining for young teens Cons: None
In my quest to find reading material for my 7th grade classroom, Ive run across many teen targeted magazines that fall really short of providing appropriate and entertaining content. Ive also found a few that hit the target group and dont ...
Girls' Life has a title which isn't deceiving as some of the titles out there about having a great life being a girl. This magazine TRULY is about a Girls' Life. Have a blast with having the life of a girl--here's the details! The magazine itself has ...
Pros: good articles, cover, pictures, contests Cons: advertisements, some topics
I bought this magazine for my sister for Christmas. I was so happy that this magazine is a success! Girls' Life is for fifth/sixth grade girls that love to read and find interesting articles. It features great articles, contests, give-a-ways, great...
Pros: Real Magazine for Real Girls Cons: I would like to see the magazine break out a little bit from the norm and examine alternative areas
The first time I saw this magazine I thought, How Pathetic. Boy's Life has been around forever, now this new magazine is trying to rip off Boy's Life most recent sucesses. I think Boy's Life is great for kids, so I was also a little worried that the...
Pros: Sometimes has great articles on current music and celebrities. Cons: Not enough info about celebrities, too much emphasis on boys and fashion and beauty
Any opening comments about this magazine? Yes. It isn't nearly as bad as some of the other mag ...
Pros: Girls will love it, it deals with real issues Cons: Strictly for one age group, can grow out of it quickly
Know an 11 year old girl? Have a daughter in the 5th or 6th grade? Girls Life is a perfect gift. I'll admit it...I've read it once or twice, even though I'm probably more of a Seventeen reader. For pre-teens it's hard to find a good magazine that hits...
Pros: Models in most articles/ads look like real girls Cons: none
This magazine is perfect for preteen girls. One of the biggest pros is the photographs of real girls throughout the magazine -- all sizes, shapes and colors. Although my daughter, 12, likes to flip through Seventeen and YM, this magazine reflects...
This is a very cute magazine. I have found myself buying a subscrition to this magazine as a gift for many young girls. The age group that it is appropriate for is pre teen. Between the ages of 9-13. The articles are cute and they even have a section of...
Pros: It's a perfect for it's age group, the preteen. Cons: none
This magazine is wonderful! It's perfect for the preteen girl. It's full of advice, articles, and stories to help a girl during the hardest time of her life, growing up. What I really like about it is that there are no anorexic-like girls posing on every...
Pros: Great Material. Cons: Needs more articles like the one I mentioned.
Girl's Life Magazine is a fresh example of what girls should be today. I'm not a critic, I'm a reader. Their articles have meaning, and aren't a load of rubbish, as some other magazines write. Girl's life Magazine focuses on girls ages 8-15. The...
Pros: Positive, great contents Cons: More for ages 10-14...eight-year-olds aren't usually concerned about boys yet, and don't wear makeup (hey, it's better than your little sis getting a handle on your copy of Seventeen!)
I have read this magazine ever since my subscription of American Girl ran out, and have continued with my subscription after being caught by the teen magazine itch, reading such beauty-guy-love issues of Seventeen, Teen and the ever-distinct "dare...
girl's life- not for young girls! by epn3292 ,May 30 '04
Pros: good advice columns, fun fashion Cons: targets impressionable minds with inappropriate articles
i have a subscription to this magazine. i think that some of their articles are really inappropriate. girls my age will not tell you that because of how perverted our society has become, they do not even realize how inappropriate it is. one of their issues featured an article on how to kiss and be a better kisser. they focus WAY too much on boys and how to get skinny quick. i like their advice columns because they give good advice, most of the time. some of their articles i highly disapprove of. they can make opinions seem like facts and since they are targeting young girls, they are instituting "facts" into impressionable minds and not letting us think for ourselves. 2 of my friends have completely changed their minds about things because they believe that what Girl's Life writers said was a fact. they should not present us with articles full of dieting, boys, and kissing; because our impressionable minds will believe that's just how it works and what life is all about.
