Pros: variety of information Cons: recipes sections/ advertising
I like this magazine for the variety of topics presented every month. I can read about health issues, our government and those of other countries, true stories of everyday people, be entertained with jokes...it's all in there. There is no magazine...

Pros: Something for Everyone Cons: New format not as good
The Reader's Digest is one of the best monthly magazines available. If I could afford only one magazine subscription, this would be my choice. They have something for everyone.
One of the first articles I always read is "Drama in Real...

Pros: has mix of useful and entertaining articles Cons: every issue seems the same as another
I read a book that came out a few years ago about the history of Readers Digest and the life story of DeWitt and Lila Acheson Wallace, the magazine's founders. The author was a former long-time Readers Digest employee who had turned against the...

Pros: Very informative and thought provoking Cons: Not enough magazines out there like it
I have been reading Readers Digest since I was in High School. I think my main reason, at first, for reading it was the fact that unlike other magazines you don't have to page to the end of the issue to finish an article. This is a magazine you can...

Pros: Everything about the magazine, but especially the real life, and encouraging articles. Cons: None.
I truly like, and greatly appreciate, how Reader's Digest selects some of the very best articles that every one should read, and puts them all together in one handy available source. Some of the very best articles, informative as well as current, are ...

Pros: Positive, Uplifting Stories, and humor that is comfortably "digested" Cons: some people prefer all aspects of their life to contain some "dirt". hopefully, they will never find it, here
This review is in answer to the person who called Reader's Digest "baby food".
UPDATE: DougAlexander is the person who called it baby food, so that you may take his rating in it's proper context
He has every right to rate this epinion...

Pros: uhhh, I will have to think for a while Cons: mediocre content, You get bombarded with junk mail.
O.K. I admit it, it was a huge mistake to subscribe. I have a stack of Reader's Digest (RD) magazines still in their plastic wrappers. Why are they unread you ask?
I subscribed when I was on a magazine kick, I did not subscribe to any...

Pros: Articles, trivia, jokes, condensed books. What more could you ask? Cons: Sometimes the condensed books leave a few gaps in information. Very difficult market for freelancers.
I love Reader's digest. For one thing, the size is easy to hold. It has so much information jammed into each small issue. Some of the monthly features are excellent - the jokes, yes, but I always do the Word Power Test and read the Quotable Quotes.

Pros: Covers a wide variety of topics and also comes in large print edition and many other languages! Cons: I honestly cannot think of any!
I began reading Reader's Digest in elementary school when my parents had a subscription coming to their home every year. When I got married, Reader's Digest was one of the gifts I have asked for annually for Christmas!
I thoroughly enjoy this...

Pros: humor pieces Cons: Don't read if for the substance or literary value.
I like to read THE READER'S DIGEST, but it's sort of a guilty pleasure. It's the sort of thing you're happy to stumble across on your in-law's coffee table because you'd rather read it than talk to them. It's got short little articles that are...

Pros: Interesting articles sometimes Cons: Not enough interesting articles
I used to love reader's digest, but now I don't even subscribe to it anymore. First, the magazine is about half the size of what it was a few years ago. Second, half of that is advertisements. Third, most of the articles that are squeezed in there are...
