Pros: The five- page articles. Cons: The fact that the magazine is no longer about music but about Hollywood actors.
There are times when I am not sure if I am reading a magazine or looking at pornographic material. I received Rollingstone at a pretty penny since it was offered to me by promotion junkies. At first, I enjoyed the long articles on music and politics....

Pros: The big names Cons: The lame covers; the occasionally shoddy writing.
Rolling Stone was once (as in as recently as five years, to be honest here) THE magazine that mattered when it came to music. Primarily rock with some hip-hop and country tossed in, it was always a riveting read.
But, it seems, times have changed....

Pros: good articles sometimes Cons: too many actors on the cover
Alas, this fine magazine is not the edgey rag it once was in days of yore. Now, it is the music version of the vapid People magazine.
I am seriously starting to dislike the way that almost every time some huge star has a film coming out,...

Pros: Good articles on rock bands are found in this mag.....on occasion, that is! Cons: Too many almost-naked bimbos on covers make me want to vomit.
I'd say that it's RUBBISH. Rolling Stone has really been following in the footsteps of MTV over the years. In other words, the magazine has deteriorated to the point where it's just plain disgusting.
As for the men who are turned on by...

Pros: subscription price, diversity, trustworthy reviews Cons: mainstream middle class white male point of view
I find that Rolling Stone magazine is a hit or miss publication. Some issues are really great, others are thoroughly boring. In recent years, it seems they've tried very hard to become "hip" again, covering some more cutting edge genres of...

Pros: We have recycling bins. Cons: We're losing trees at a record pace to produce this garbage.
Rolling Stone: The Literary MTV
There was a time when I wouldn’t dare compare Rolling Stone to that mockery of a network, however, a recent lack of credible material has led me to make this association. When you finally wade through the...

Pros: a nice picture from time to time Cons: filled mostly with garbage
What happened? Rolling Stone went from having Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, and The Grateful Dead on their covers to calling the Backstreet Boys the artists of the year; they dont even write their own lyrics! What is going on? I canceled my subscription...

Pros: What it was Cons: What it is
Once apon a time Rolling Stone was a cutting edge, risky magazine breaking new ground with almost every issue. It appears that that has stopped. It has become corporate, watered down, mainstream, trashy news. If one is to name their magazine after...

Pros: Feature articles, photography, & Peter Travers Cons: Many of the regular sections
I have been a subscriber for about 8 years. Rolling Stone is the only magazine I still subscribe to because when they do deliver the goods, they keep me happy. Here's a quick breakdown.
The Good
I will almost always read the feature...

Pros: Smart writing, good reviews, even some journalism Cons: Is the print version really necessary?
I think it's about time we changed our expectations of Rolling Stone. A lot of reviews I've read say that it is no longer "hip" or "cutting edge," and it strikes me that while this is true, there still may be a place for Rolling Stone...

Pros: good articles Cons: sometimes not good for younger readers
Most issues of Rolling Stone are pretty good and most of the information in them are interesting and nice to know. They have decent cover stories, although they often have covers that are too provocative for the large majority of their subscribers. Most...

Pros: Good political articles Cons: Anything involved with music
Rolling Stone seems to be and has been the authoritative music magazine for quite a while, and it still seems to deliver, on everything except the musical aspects. The only reason I still subscribe to this magazine are the excellent political and social...

Pros: Something for everyone, entertaining, informative, fun Cons: some "trends"
My family and I have been receiving Rolling Stone for about three years. In our family, we don't necessarily have all the same tastes in music or entertainment (rock, country, blues, etc.), but we all read it.
Rolling Stone has articles...

Pros: Justifies everything you thought about how the sixties went wrong Cons: People still trust this magazine
This magazine is worth even less than the paper it is printed on. Issue after issue, there are gushing profiles of the latest stars of WB's teenbait soap operas or the newest slick pop sensations. Nary is a critical word printed, and the articles mostly...

Pros: Half naked cover of Britney Spears? Cons: This magazine is MTV on paper. Enough said.
There are so many reasons why I hate rolling stone. To state them all would get boring, so I will just give a few of the main ones. First of all, there are more ads than there are pages with text. Second of all, I think the Rolling Stone writing staff...
