A must-have for Tull aficionados
by krishswamy ,Jan 19 '04
Pros: Light, enjoyable, best for listening away in solitude Cons: Not essentially classic Tull, but the twist is delicious
Little Light Music, was one of the later Tull albums I heard. It has a great collection of the Tull classics, yet each one is delightfully twisted to make it sound even more melodious, if that could be possible. The sequencing of the songs with instrumental numbers between the songs is again very endearing.
The best songs in this album I think are Bouree, Too Old to Rock and Roll and A New Day Yesterday. Bouree is of course a special, but the brilliant piece in this one is a New Day. The interplay between the guitar and the flute is something that seems so timeless and somehow amazingly refreshing to the ear and mind. And when the song does end, it is with a flourish that is fitting. A great album, but a must have for long time Tull aficionados who are familiar with Tull music.
