Pros: A set of ambitious, intelligent and catchy songs with impassioned lyrics and solid instrumentation. Cons: The three acoustic links are more atmosphere-based than melodic.
Reaching album number four in the Jethro Tull discography, we finally come to Aqualung; the record that most of the classic rock listening audience is likely to instantly associate with the group. Continuing the one album per year ...

Pros: It's all good. Soft and hard, deep and simple, scathing yet caring. Tull's best, easily. Cons: Not every album needs bonus tracks. This was fine the way it was.
The English have always had some kind of a problem with religion. Seems like every time someone named Henry occupied the throne, either an archbishop got hacked up, a break with Rome occurred, or something equally ugly happened to push the country ...

Pros: Absolutely necessary for any classic rock collection Cons: Bonus tracks not up to the rest and don't fit well
It's hard for a child of the '90s to believe that this was ever thought shocking and daring, but at one point this music was "hard rock". Aqualung, by Jethro Tull (a band, not a person) dealt with the three issues that were considered taboo during...

Pros: Some good rock songs. Aqualung, Hymn 43. Cons: The flute's prominence. Some very bad slow songs.
I’ve recently read several reviews on Jethro Tull’s Aqualung and have seen nothing but praise for it. A few people even had the gall to call it one of the top ten rock albums of all time. I had listened to Aqualung before and with the exception of ...

Pros: Classic song after classic song, and a thought-provoking central theme to tie them together. Cons: None, but bonus tracks would have been better on a second disc.
I wasn't alive back in 1971, but I can imagine that Aqualung must have caused quite a stir. Even right now, there's probably a teen with an eclectic taste in music (and highly religious parents) hiding a copy of this album under his or her bed....

Pros: Great sound, flute is awesome, good artwork. Cons: Some of the newly added things don't fit on the CD.
Released in 1971 by Jethro Tull, Aqualung is probably Tull's most popular and well known album. Personally, I believe Thick As a Brick is their best album, but this is truly excellent music. Some of the lyrics are controversial...

Pros: A classic album! Cons: Bonus tracks a mixed bag.
Released almost 30 years ago, many songs from this album are still in Tull's live repertoire and figure prominently in many a radio station's playlist. Aqualung was the real beginning of Tull's commercial ascendancy in the US. Labeled a "concept...

Pros: Great album, nice sound Cons: creepy acoustic passages, album gets stuck in head easily
I have not been a very big Jethro Tull fan until I kept hearing "Locomotive Breath", "Aqualung", and "Living in the Past" on my local classic rock radio station here in Seattle. Since I heard the three "best" songs on Aqualung (title, "Cross-Eyed Mary", ...

Pros: Three of the best Tull songs ever Cons: Absolutely none
In 1971, Jethro Tull released Aqualung. If you were to compare this side by side with ANYTHING released by ANYONE in the last thirty years, serious music enthusiasts would be hard pressed not to agree that it is superior.
From the first few...

Pros: Good hard rock music Cons: Only if your mother reads the lyrics
I originally bought this album at the tender age of 13, and it has since been one of the key elements in my music collection. It also contributed to my rebellion years of hard, acid rock and heavy metal. Although it isn't considered heavy metal by...

Pros: Very early progressive rock, high quality songwriting, intelligent lyrics. Cons: Nothing.
Ok, so I don't own the remastered version, I Have the gold ol poor quality master LP version, but regardless, this album is incredible.
Released in 1971 as Tull's 4th album, this is the one that really put him on the mainstream map. Tull's...

Pros: Such a complete comprehensive album... Cons: Nothing worth mentioning...
'Aqualung' offers something to those who are looking for music that is emotional, and intriguing. 'Aqualung' will creep up on you an make you fall in love with it... The album is divided into two parts (which is done again by Jethro Tull on 'The ...
