  • Not a regular patron? At least stop by the electric cafe

Pros: Terrific production stands up today, particularly on "Musique Non Stop" and the title track.
Cons: Short; "The Telephone Call" and "Sex Object" are less inspired.

Summary: It is almost impossible to understate the musical impact of the legendary German group Kraftwerk.  Not only is electronic music in general indebted to their innovation, but their highly rhythmic influence extends also to disco, hip hop (think ... read more

Pros: A few good songs almost redeem the record
Cons: The shine is off the rose. No longer visionary, just more 80s synth pop

Summary: If you take a look at some of my more recent reviews (see below), you'll see that I'm on a big Kraftwerk kick lately. Albums such as Radio-Activity and Computer World still appeal to me and seem likely to remain a playlist fixture for ... read more

  • Great "vintage" electronica

Pros: Thinking man's (or woman's) club music
    Cons: none

Summary: This is a masterful work from the originators of modern electronic dance music, and unfortunately, still the last new Kraftwerk album. ("The Mix" from 1991 was just a compilation of remixes.) François Kevorkian (who also did a lot of work ... read more
