Pros: 62 minutes of Bob Marley's best. Cons: The shortest 62 minutes of music I've ever heard. No songs from the Survival album.
I started listening to Bob Marley's music in the late 1970's, and my interest really ignited when the Survival album (1979) was released. Little did I know at the time that Bob Marley was living his last days.
Robert Nesta Marley (b....

Pros: A Great Best-Of Collection from Bob Marley. Cons: None Mon.
Note: Dedicated in Memory of Billboard Editor-In Chief Timothy White (1952-2002)
June 27, 2002 was a sad day in rock n’ roll when two contributing figures of the era died. The death of bassist John Entwistle of the Who was a shock to many...

Pros: music that will make you happy...period Cons: Marley passed away in 1981, way too soon.
I wish to dedicate this review to my friend Danny, who passed away all too soon at the age of 21 late in 2000...he loved Bob Marley, and I do believe this is the most difficult review I've ever decided to write. But it needs to be written....

Pros: Every track is a renowned classic on this compilation Cons: Would have been nice for this to have spread out a box set
Jamaicas' most gifted musical artist was undoubtedly the legendary Bob Marley. Bob Marley and his dynamic backing group, The Wailers, became the sound of Jamaica. Marley also deservedly became the undisputed and unparalled king of reggae music, defining ...

Pros: Wakes you up Cons: n/a
This is part of a write-off. Just when I was in a mood to get down to writing a string of book reviews, I got into this. This particular album, this particular artist, this time in history, this particular rhythm. I entered the world of Bob Marley the...

Pros: The Whole album is one killer beat after another.
Cons: Some of Marley's fiery stuff is missing.
For most part, I stay away from music that even remotely poses any danger of making my booty go Shake!! Shake!! Wiggle!! Wiggle!! so if you were to ask me why I bought this CD; I would be at a loss for words. I had no idea who Bob Marley was & my...

Pros: All the songs are the most of the best songs he made Cons: They didnt have some of his greateset songs on there
I would be at a loss for words. I had no idea who Bob Marley was & my knowledge of reggae was limited to this somewhat amusing guy who proclaimed himself to be a "Fantastic, romantic lova" who went by the strange moniker of Shaggy. Definitely not a good ...

Pros: Full of Soul, moving & sexy Cons: none
A few years ago, I would have laughed at you if you told me I'd be listening to Reggae. I was a die hard Casey Kasem fan in the 80's listening to Americas Top 40 every Sunday morning. So what happened? I went to Jamaica to meet my internet love....

Pros: Bob Marley is to music as Jesus is to Christianity. This CD is a "must-have". Cons: Bob Marley wrote too many great songs, shame they couldn't all be on Legend CD.
Background There is no truth but de one truth, an' dat is de truth of Jah Rastafari." So proclaimed the legendary and undisputed king of reggae music, Robert Nesta Marley (1945-1981), in his Jamaican patois. No statement better exemplifies the ...

Pros: Great compilation of Marley's greatest songs Cons: Nothing
I've been reading a lot of reviews on Bob Marley's Legend CD, and I'm not exactly sure what to make of some of them. Rather than get into some long drawn out argument, I'll just let you all know what this CD does for me.
I've grown up...

Pros: all killer, no filler Cons: none of the Lee Perry or Studio One stuff
Scene #1: Austria, the New Years’ Eve of 2000/2001, circa 9 o clock in the evening. I’m sitting around in the kitchen of my relatives’ yuppie friends, while dinner is being cooked. Everywhere around me, people are reading financial newspapers or...
