Pros: One of the Greatest Heavy Metal albums. Period Cons: Cliff's last album.
By the mid 80s Metallica were on a mission. That mission was to become the biggest metal band in the world on their own terms and without compromise. No exceptions. Well... flash forward 20 years later and Metallica have become somewhat of a joke band. A ...

Pros: Some of Metallica's best music and songwriting ever, improving vocals and production, many classic songs. Cons: The fact that Cliff Burton is dead.
For the past 20 years, Metallica has without question been one of the biggest bands out there. Millions of copies of their albums have been sold worldwide, all of their albums have gone platinum (including their ultra-rare and hard-to-find EP, Garage ...

Pros: The most complete album of any genre of music ever. The ultimate metal masterpiece! Cons: What are you kidding?
In the opinion of many, "Master of Puppets" sets the standard for metal albums; a work of art that supersedes the sound of every metal compilation ever created. Well, my opinion is no different than the rest. So if you're looking for a review that bashes ...

Pros: Exceptional lyrics, great musicianship from the band Cons: Ending of album could've been better
After listening to many Metallica albums and hearing so many great things about this album, I felt that I HAD to get this album!
I got it about a month ago, and I have to say, "WOW!" This album is just amazing! Musically, lyrically this...

Pros: Excellent songwriting, lyrics, Cliff Burton's heavy presence, epic sweep Cons: This was Cliff Burton's final album with the band before his death
MASTER!
MASTER!
The chorus on the title track on this album says it all:
Master of Puppets will pull your strings.
It's been fifteen years since this magnum opus by one of heavy metal's greatest bands came...

Pros: Fast-paced, hammering, and stylish songs. One of best thrash albums ever made. Cons: "...And Justice For All" was better, a couple mediocre tracks.
Not many heavy metal bands ever had as much claim to fame as Metallica did back in the 80's. After their successful debut album "Kill 'Em All", the band's style and technique became much more refined as they progressed. Their songs gradually began to...

Pros: Battery, Master of Puppets, Sanitarium Cons: The rest of the songs are so-so, but so what?
» Why did you buy this album?
I bought it because at the time I was just getting into metal and Metallica had quite a reputation. I was warned to avoid their newer stuff though, and this album has great cover art so I chose this one.I was not...

Pros: Needs no introduction. Classic metal songs that are more evolved melodically than previous efforts. Cons: One or two weak tracks, not as universal as some fans may think.
I'm going to start by saying that Master of Puppets is NOT my favorite Metallica album, nor do I think of it as the pinnacle point of thrash metal. I know this album means a great deal to many metal fans, and that it is a great album, but I would like to ...

Pros: Tracks 1-8. Cons: Absolutely none.
Master Of Puppets could very well be the best heavy metal album ever. This is a true classic, and whenever anyone tries to tell you that Metallica is a terrible band now, just shove this in their face and remind them of what greatness they used to share ...

Pros: Metallica before the Symphony Cons: Cliff Burton is no longer with us, it hasn't been this good since
I know my title might catch me a little flack. It is how I really feel. While yes Metallica is still good, I am pained when listening to the older stuff. I know that people enjoyed the S&M album, I however didn't. For me it marked a horrid leap out...

Pros: Metallica's crowning achievement Cons: Only 8 songs
I think that Metallica's "Master of Puppets" is their best work. It's a lot more polished than either "Kill 'em All" or "Ride the Lightning", but not overproduced like "...And Justice for All" or "Metallica". When "Master" came out back in 1986, I had...

Pros: Heavy metal master, master, masterpiece Cons: the last song is a little weak
I am inclined to write this review because until six months ago Master of Puppets was 100% recommended. The half dozen or so reviews that do not recommend this album for the most part are poorly written and make juvenile attacks against the bands for...

Pros: Mind blowing riffs, beautiful melodies and meaningful lyrics. Cons: None.
With two records under their belt (Kill 'Em All and Ride The Lighting)Metallica stepped up the songwriting and musicianship even more with their third album Master Of Puppets. This record brings the both of best worlds...the sheer raw energy of thrash ...
