Pros: Eclectic lyrics, carefully placed noise, dynamic sound and some of the catchiest hooks ever. Cons: A couple tracks are a bit weak.
Summary: Where to start? Well, I guess I'll start off by saying that this is, without a doubt, one of the best alternative rock albums I've ever listened to. The record pulses originality. The moment you pop this baby in, "Summer Babe ... read more

Pros: Everything good that lo-fi indie rock has to offer. And that's a lot of goodness. Cons: If enough people like me keep talking about it, the band may become popular.

Pros: Not a bad song among the lot, experimental without being overly arty, infinitely accessible Cons: Garish art

Pros: It could be the great lost CD of the 1990's. Cons: Moments of excessive artiness that grow on you only after repeated playing
Summary: Characteristically out of step with the times, I stumbled onto Pavement well after all the hip cats had discovered them. My first exposure, two years after its release, was their second album, Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain. “Golly, what wonderful ... read more

Summary: Pavement seem to cut straight to the heart of the suburban growing-up experience. The, for lack of a better term, "up" moments all have a tinge of melancholy running through them, and the "down" moments don't bury themselves in ... read more

Pros: never gets old Cons: not for those who don't like flat vocals
Summary: I absolutely agree with dharma's opinion and there isn't much to add- she covered the subject well.
So what if Pavement has become a mainstay in American X-gener society? This album is just angry, melancholy, and sublime enough to be a ... read more
