Pros: Possom Kingdom Cons: Some really bad metal tracks
They had one really awesome song you know the one The Toadies first blast onto the scene with their 1995 hit Possum Kingdom. To put it in plain English, this song rocked. But, they formed six years earlier in Fort ...
Pros: If you turn it up loud enough, your blood will boil..you would have to hear it to understand. Cons: Tracks 9 and 10
Ok I have been having a very very bad week. I won't go into details, I know everyone's life stinks from time to time, some more then others. I am not about to start whining why my week would more appropriately fall under the category of stinky as in the...
Pros: some great music Cons: probably never to be heard from again
Well, there was a time after the release of this album where a day couldn't go by without hearing a Toadies song on the radio. That time is now long gone, and now, shuffling through my cds, wondering where I put my Toadies cd makes me wonder what it was...
Pros: Tyler, Possum Kingdom, Away, I Burn, Mexican Hairless and all the other tracks Cons: Nothing
What can I say about this Album but AWESOME!! The Toadies, a band from Texas, totally rock. I first purchased Rubberneck when I saw the video for Possum Kingdom. I was just going to buy the single but there wasn't one. So I splurged and bought the...
Pros: Keeps you hooked the whole album Cons: Need more albums from this group
The album hooks you right off the bat with a fast, pulsating instrumental that could wake up the dead. The rest of the album complements more than adequately. In short, this album rocks!! The first song i ever heard off of this album was "I come...
Pros: Excellent lyrics & music, fun album Cons: too few to mention
TOADIES: Rubberneck
The 1994 album "Rubberneck" by the Toadies (Interscope Records) is a must-buy for any fan of punk or grunge. This album, which is the Fort Worth Texas-based band's most recent, has won the band a great deal of...
Pros: 11 quality songs Cons: New Album soon? Where is it guys?
This album grew on me like a virulent fungus. Trust me, that's not a bad thing (the album not the fungus). Like all great artists, they toil in relative obscurity. Who else but a fan would have heard anything but Possum Kingdom? Unfortunately, I...
Pros: Grew from 'pretty good' to my favorite. Cons: Where are they now?
This is one of my favorite "Angry Music" albums. I feel like I just threw a tantrum and beat the hell out of someone after I listen. Yet it is not just noise and chaos.
The more I listened to this album the more I grew to know and...
Pros: Original, and extremely fun to listen to. Cons: Cymbals do not come out enough.
This is still one of my favorite cd's of all time. Not only is it totally original, but it has the underground, yet not too muddy and under-produced feel that makes so many bands great if underappreciated. Rubberneck is one of those cd's that you might totally forget about and then play it everyday for a month. Simple, great, dark, happy, fun, fast, ambiguous...all words I would use to describe this band and this album. Let's just say that I would not mind covering more than one song off this album in a band. Enjoy.
