Shame It Only Happened Once
by aftermarketx ,May 20 '06
Pros: Best version of some songs ever, and so many hits! Cons: Come As You Are sounded bland acoustic, (Kurt also missed a cord in it)
This was Kurt's masterpiece in the way that he wanted everything acoustic and Cat-Stevens-like and Ledbelly style, This show was one of the greatest moments of Kurt's life reguardless weather he felt so or not, Great versions of songs that don't sound like re-runs of the hits, it keeps your ears glued and makes you feel like you are at a coffee joint experiencing a new kind of music with Kurt as the conductor, Dave also shined this night and it showed how great of a musician he is and what was to come. Second best behind In Utero, beats Nevermind only because of the number of hits from In Utero that were included, and in the case of On A Plain this was the best performance existing even! (After all the bootlegs I have heard and not to mention Box Set) I only wish his Come As You Are performance was not so bland in acoustic only.

MTV Unplugged, So Unique.
by lemonhead575 ,Nov 26 '05
Pros: Great songs, great band, great performance, amazing album! Kurt has some funny speaking bits. Cons: Nothing.
This album was definitely so different and unique from anything else they have done. This shows the soft, sensitive side of Kurt and Nirvana. Nirvana was a grunge band, not an acoustic rock band, but this piece of art shows that they could have been any kind of band they wanted to be. Nirvana is one of the best rock bands that have ever been, and this album is great!!

Proving that Nirvana ARE the greatest ever band
by gabrielzao ,Feb 22 '04
Pros: The essence of Nirvana in a nutshell Cons: It's annoyingly expensive in English record shops.
I spent most of my teenage life getting really angry at my parents, conforming to be a misfit and trying to be a rebel. To be fair Nirvana summed up everything I wanted to be, and this album sums up everything that Nirvana were.
Essentially when buying this album one is buying a slice of pure, untamed Nirvana. From Cobain's screeching vocals on "Where did you sleep last night" to Novoselics smooth bass riffs on "Come as you are".
If I had to distinguish one Nirvana album to own, this would be it. But nobody should own just one!

Accousic Classics
by bobonbass ,Feb 06 '04
Pros: Beautiful, nostalgiac, meaningful. Cons: not good to listen to if you're not in the right mood.
This albums shows that under Nirvana's abrasive distortion, there are some beautiful melodies. In this album, you can see "what's behind Kurt Cobain's iron curtain". This album shows that Nirvana were really songwriters and not just a "noise" band.
