Pros: Um, well, 'Want' and 'Mint Car' aren't too bad... Cons: The rest of the album.
Before I rip into this 1996 release from The Cure, I feel it necessary to admit that I am in no way shape or form a fan of the dark progressive band. Their sound is much too moody and much too pretentious for my tastes (although my tastes aren’t...
Pros: Half of it is very good. Cons: Half of it is abysmal.
Wild Mood Swings is The Cures 1996 album, and is widely regarded as their weakest, probably fairly. Because, to be perfectly honest, its not very good. It has some shining moments, but half the album is dross of the worst sort, mak ...
Pros: Less than half of the album Cons: More than half the album
Wild Mood Swings, released by The Cure in 1996, was highly anticipated. After a four year hiatus from the studio, fans were definitely ready for a new album. Too bad the one they got was half baked. This is one of The Cure's most uneven albums, ranking ri ...
Pros: "This is a Lie" "Jupiter Crash" Cons: Everything Else
Okay, so if you haven't turned on the radio lately, I suggest you do so. Listen to it for about 10-15 minutes and I'm sure you're ears will be bestowed with the instant classic Cure song "Maybe Someday", which is currently my all-time...
Pros: More elaborate arrangements than most Cure albums Cons: I am sorry I didn't get it sooner
I have to admit I just got "Wild mood swings" two days ago, and I feel badly cheated. Cheated because after a few listens this turned out to be an excellent album. The songs "Want" and "Jupiter crash" for me already...
Pros: Half of the album is very strong. Cons: Robert Smith reverts to his "fruitcake" persona.
After the brilliant one-two punch of "Disintegration" and "Wish", I was absolutely stoked to go out and buy "Wild Mood Swings" upon its release. After careful consideration, my main concern with the album is just how uneven and unpredictable it is....
Pros: Musical innovation and subtle emotional content make this a very satisfying work Cons: Takes time for the songs to make an impression
I have read a number of the reviews of this album and it seems that it is the most misunderstood of the Cure's offerings to date. I believe the misunderstanding is largely due to expectations of the Cure based on their prior output. Wild Mood Swings ...
Pros: Want, Bare, Numb Cons: Round & Round, This is a lie, Return
In 1996 when the entire country was being "Mad fer it" and "living in the sunsheeine" the last thing on peoples minds was what fat Bob Smith and the boys were up to.Of course for us fans it was somewhat different as it had been 4 years since the "Wish"...
Pros: only a handful of decent tracks Cons: going through the motions
This is honestly not a good album by The Cure. If you'd never heard The Cure before, then, maybe, it would sound a tad more inspired, but with an entire collection of Cure albums at my disposal, I was very disappointed. Being a loyal fan, I tried to...
The Cure's 1996 release, "Wild Mood Swings" gave me an aneurysm. I bought my first Cure album in 1994, but since I was old enough to listen to Progressive radio, I felt that chill up my spine and that jittery feeling in my brain every time I...
Pros: Something for every die-hard Cure fan here. Both pop and goth. Cons: "Club America" and "Return" could have been either replaced by b-sides or just left off completely.
Why isn't this album liked? I often ponder this question when I read such blasphemous reviews (often by Cure fans) stating that is is the "worst" Cure record. "Wild Mood Swings", the 1996 release and 12th studio effort by the Cure, is...
Wonderful! Just needs better producing... by ginakg ,Oct 08 '03
Pros: Well written songs Cons: Over-produced
This is just as good a Cure album as any of the others, it just needs more focus on the songs...they need to be stripped of the loud, slick, over-producing that makes this album overbearing to most people...Great, melodious songs and outstanding lyrics as usual, The Cure deliver on all counts where we expect them to... the songs are just way overdone...Stand out track #7: JUPITER CRASH...This album is still one of my favorites!
not the best, but still misunderstood by rrrrp ,Oct 31 '06
Pros: mintcar, return, bare Cons: club america, not one of their high points
this album sees the cure making use of more sounds and ideas than they ever had in the past. It gets dissed because it doesn't sound like disintigration. Boo Hoo! Disintigration is a better album. But i like it better than wish altogether
Theres a couple of crap tracks on it, but most of the album is beautiful and fun,
from a lyrical standpoint, one of the cure's best.
Music. After the relatively straightforward {\pop} of {^Wish}, {$the Cure} moved back toward stranger, edgier territory with {^Wild Mood Swings}. Actu...More at DeepDiscount.com
