When I came across this CD yesterday it took a lot of thought for me to finally make it to the register. By the time I came home and listened to it I was astonished that I ever even hesitated purchasing this fine album. In truth, I felt the same way you feel when you take a shortcut through the surface roads and hear later that there was an accident on the freeway. After going through it a few more times I am nearly shaken that I thought of leaving this one on the rack.

His guitar playing is better than ever, and that pretty much drives each song. This is a new McCartney, again. Though it becomes obvious when listening to him that he has acquired slightly different taste and style, each song still carries with it that familiar genius of McCartney. Still Beatlesque with that flavor he has carried since wings this album shows a different side of McCartney at times.

The first few times around it may be hard to get into because of the changes but surely over little time you will come to love Flaming Pie. A keeper if there ever was one.
