Pros: Obviously "Kiss Me", but also some subtle, cerebral, downbeat, yet surprisingly diverse gems. Cons: "Sister, Mother", "I Won't Stay Long", and the needlessly tacked-on "There She Goes".
A while ago, I told myself I'd take a break from the steady stream of just-released music begging for my attention, go on a little trip down memory lane, and compose at least one "nostalgia review" per month for the enjoyment of those readers who really ...

Pros: Literate (even literary) lyrics, sophisticated music, and tender vocals Cons: Forced to share a radio market with 'N Sync and Britney Spears
I avoided it for as long as I could.
"Kiss Me" assaulted me from every angle. At work, in my car, in the grocery store, and particularly in those rare moments when I forced myself to turn on VH1--in hopes of seeing Tom Waits or...

Pros: Catchy tunes, good lyrics, warm and innocent feel to the album Cons: Lyrics can lose distinction at times
For those of you who may not know, Sixpence None The Richer's self-titled album isn't their first. In fact the group has been putting out music on various Christian recording labels for a few years now. Be that as it may, the album is their seminal...

Pros: Rich, varied sound, deep lyrics, Leah's vocals Cons: A few overlong songs, some strange harmonies on a couple songs
"Sixpence None the Richer" is the third full-length release from the band of the same name, and demonstrates a marked shift from previous efforts. Sixpence's first release, "Fatherless and the Widow" (1994) was a simply-crafted work,...

Pros: great lyrics, great vocals, great music, great band, great message Cons: I don't really care too much for the Kiss Me song
I was first introduced to the music of Sixpence None The Richer about a year previous to their mainstream debut. A certain instructor of mine seemed quite intrigued with their songs and thus decided to play the CD in the chaotic journalism room.
It...

Pros: it has many christian themes. Cons: i didn't get it earlier.
"Kiss me...strike up the band and make the fireflies dance silver moon's sparkling...so kiss me."
Ugh! You wanna talk about being tired of a song/band! I literally despised Sixpence None The Richer. Until a good Christian friend...

Pros: Wonderful music, harmony Cons: None, really.
After expecting the other songs on this album to be "Kiss Me"-ish, I was pleasantly surprised. Sixpence's other songs showcase their remarkable range and ability. Their lyrics are wonderfully poetic and deep, and their music is melodically...

Pros: Great variety of expression Cons: None
In Sixpence None The Richer, there is something about Leigh Nash's lead vocals that just grabs you and charms you into following her in the journey that this album entails. The soft, angelic, doll-like purity of Nash's voice brings a majority of...

Pros: poetic, original, lead singer's unique voice Cons: some may prefer more variety
Sixpence is known for the song "Kiss Me". This beautiful tune with thoroughly poetic lyrics is reason enough to buy this CD.
An example of the lyrics penned by the bands guitar and cellist, Matt Slocum:
"Kiss Me,...

Pros: Witty construction balanced with immeasurable depth. Cons: It's Christian listing is somewhat misleading
I generally tend to stray from Christian recordings as they tend to be preachy and stuffy. However I had to have "Kiss Me" and that beautifully re-done "There She Goes", and so I bought the CD. I expected that the songs not meant for...

Pros: Great Songs and Excellent Voice. Cons: Overplayed.
When I first got the self titled Sixpence None The Richer album, "Kiss Me" was just first getting good airplay, and coming to everyones attention. That song was the main reason I bought the album, instantly loving the catchy tune as well as...

Pros: beautiful voice, lyrics, music Cons: none
Okay, I admit it, I bought this CD just for the adorable cover (and the song "Kiss Me") but all my hopes came true when I found that EVERY song on this CD is so beautiful and amazing. Their singer is really talented, I think she's going to go...

Pros: great album Cons: hard to find
I know that Sixpence None the Richer is getting lots of play with "Kiss Me" and the song is ok, although a little too sweet at times. Don't discount this band if you didn't like this song. Their last album, "This Beautiful Mess" is...

Pros: diverse, smart pop music Cons: abandons most of the urgency of This Beautiful Mess
Sixpence outdoes themselves on this album. Incorporating strings and many other instruments into their sound, Sixpence takes a quantum leap in style and substance with this release. "Kiss Me" is the most well-known track, "Kiss Me"...

Pros: every song is goo Cons: not enough people own this album
Sixpence None The Richer has been making beautiful music for quite some time now. "Kiss Me" may be the only song that is familiar to you, but don't let that song paint a picture of what the band is like. "Kiss Me" is a neat song, but...
