Pros: Great songs; possibly Modest Mouse's best Cons: None
Between the Polaroid photos in the lyric booklet of desolate winter highways, the lyrics, and the general feel of the songs themselves, The Lonesome Crowded West quickly gives you everything you need to understand the spirit of the album. Which ...

Pros: Radio station, RDMN, now broadcasting worldwide. Cons: The name Screeching Weasel already taken.
.
Modest; (adj. 1. to be aware of, but not advertise ones enviable qualities, 2. in an adequate amount, or, not expressive in an exceedingly vane manner.)

Pros: I ended up liking it a lot Cons: I didn't want to like it at all
A wicked amalgamation of The Pixies, Jane’s Addiction, Archers of Loaf, and that Deliverance kid, Modest Mouse, an Issaquah-based quartet of suspected felons and all-around dangerous young guys, is a maddening and occasionally...

Pros: 15 Songs Of Glory Cons: None
I am a big fan of Modest Mouse's older work and will make no effort to hide it. With that little nugget of information being known, it should also be known that The Lonesome Crowded West is my personal pick of their finest work. Through my last ...

Pros: Raw, quirky, catchy, fun! Cons: If you didn't like Brock's voice in "Good News...", stay away.
Now that Modest Mouse is popular now, surely their earlier albums will receive more attention. Want to be cool and know about their album The Lonesome Crowded West so you can talk about it to your friends and tell them you've been a Mouse fan ...

Pros: They dare to be different and address actual issues. Cons: They sometimes irritate the ears, even if it's intentional.
Before I begin this exposition into the vasoline covered back stall of musical purgatory, I must admit that reviewing music is not my forte. Shoe on the other foot, this in unfamiliar ground that I will tread as lightly as possible, as not to embarrass...

Pros: An abrasive, disconcerting wave of spastic emotions and unknowing turns. Cons: Not for the over-analytical.
The Lonesome Crowded West was a time before Modest Mouse told millions of people that it was okay to “float on.” It was a time when the good times really did kill them. A time before The Shins or The Smiths had anything to do with Modest Mouse. ...

Pros: Energetic, Emotional, Strange,.. ect. Cons: Can get a little TOO strange.
Modest Mouse have a rather absurd name. Really. I do not know why that that has to do with this review, nothing probally.
Modest Mouse is indie rock trio from Washinton state(home of Grunge legends Nirvana), thier members include: Issac...

Pros: Creative and interestingly catchy. Cons: May be viewed as offensive to some.
Full of brilliant lyrics, and a whirlwind of sometimes furious, sometimes mellow songs; Modest Mouse creates what I call a masterpiece of an album. The title fits the music well, for many of the songs seem to be conflicting with themselves. Quiet but ...

Pros: Nearly every song, especially Cowboy Dan and Teeth Like God's Shoeshine. Cons: Some songs drag on a bit, get a little repetitive.
I’ll admit right off the bat that I was not a fan of Modest Mouse before they hit it big with Good New For People Who Love Bad News. I had never heard of them until I heard their song Float On and figured they were a brand new band. Luckily ...

Pros: It's gotta be one of the top ten indie albums of all time. Cons: People who are used to "float on" may not be ready for this.
Before the overly structured and poppy "Good news for people who love bad news", there was this raw and powerful album. It's wild, changes musically during songs but still is multi-textured and highly emotional. The songs have the rawness of ...

Pros: A good blend of experimental alternative music with a slight western sound. Cons: Lyrical content may offend.
This album was quite the find. I must admit that I was not exactly ready for the raw, cynical harshness of the music. Being used to their more recent and popular music such as their album, Good News for People who Love Bad News I was really able ...

Pros: every song rocks Cons: no cons here
The lonesome crowded west is a pretty amazing album. Modest mouse has godlike talent for creating sweet (i hate to say it) pop songs. They're lyrics are funny as they are beautiful. This album reminds me of the genius "slanted and enchanted"...

Pros: Not only will you be the coolest kid on your block with this cd but you will own a piece of work that is great for putting a wide variety of activities that include but not limited to driving, hanging, or smoking out. I recommend it. Cons: I could say something dumb about track five but the cd is good and I don't want to put a con down and sound like an idiot
Recently, I had the opportunity to check out the Mouse live at the Galaxy Club in Dallas. It was a situation where I was kind of aware of the band and a few of their songs but was really at the show because I was along for the ride. After sitting (or...
