Pros: Dave Matthews takes giant steps lyrically, and the band is complex as ever musically. Cons: Those that think DMB is a good-time party band are in for a big surprise.
I can understand why a lot of folks don't like the Dave Matthews Band. I don't even know if there's a tangible reason other than the contempt a lot of people have for the drunken college kids that seem to populate the band's concerts. Either way, I can ...

Pros: Quality over quantity, y'all. "Don't Drink The Water" is my new favorite DMB song. Cons: Extensive song length, "Stay" abandons its catchy intro, Dave seeks anger management.
I know I'm always lauding these guys, but the Dave Matthews Band have yet to fail me. Even the widely-scorned Everyday had its perks. Before These Crowded Streets would be the album that left me with the worst first ...

Pros: This is pretty daring and experimental for the DMB - and it works! Cons: Some growly vocals, sexual references, and a few f-words in one song.
As is the case with many of the more casual Dave Matthews Band fans, my introduction to the group was their stellar <
i>Crash
CD. It's almost always the case that when a band puts out such a solid and ...

Pros: DMB's masterpiece Cons: Spoon
Yesterday could have been my grandmothers 68th birthday. Could have, but the Lord took her away, and she didnt live long enough to see her grandson graduate this summer with the bachelor of Arts she was so happy he enrolled in four years ago. ...

Pros: deep lyrics, layered sound Cons: nope, im affraid there are none
So you want to experience this craze that is Dave Matthews Band, and perhaps you don’t want to go to a concert before you are certain you like the music. In that case, or in any case for that matter, I strongly recommend that you try out Before...

Pros: Beautiful melodies, amazing vocals, and great songwriting Cons: Too few to mention
Before These Crowded Streets is a journey about life. The songs range from sweet romancing with a friend, to deep passionate love, to bittersweet sorrow, and to angry, furious rage.
We start off this amazing CD with Pantala Naga...

Pros: Best lyrics of Dave's career, complexity, song depth Cons: Erratic, emotions of songs are all over the place, unaccessible at first
The first two Dave Matthews Band albums (Under Table and Dreaming being the first, Crash the second) had similar sounds and gained a cult following with radio singles such as "Crash" and "Ants Marching". Many of the songs on the two previous albums were ...

Pros: Great songs, great writing Cons: Some mournful songs
Bursting onto the scene with their debut Under the Table and Dreaming, the Dave Matthews Band has carved out a niche for themselves in the rock landscape. Their unique blend of horns and strings sounds, along with emotive vocals and words of their...

Pros: Terrific musicianship Cons: None
The Dave Matthews Band is something of a conundrum. They’re regarded by many as a tricked up version of Hootie & The Blowfish meets The Grateful Dead. They are followed across the country by “Daveheads” who are basically nomadic fratboys and GAP types....

Pros: It's a great album. Cons: I'm kind of hungry, actually. Could go for a burger.
Dave Matthews Band have always been one of the strangest acts in rock and roll. Their lead singer and guitarist has a voice like a melodic hiccup, their lineup is probably the most eclectic for a rock and roll band today (guitar, drums, saxophone, bass,...

Pros: A few fantastic songs, and many great songs Cons: One or two songs that don't quite fit the caliber of this album. But not every song can be perfect, right?
"Before These Crowded Streets" was the first Dave Matthews Band album I bought. Was I aware of them before? Sure. But I thought of them as just another jam band. When this album was released, I was not particularly fond of the first single,...

Pros: after looking through the lyrics, you can't help but listen to the songs... again... and again... Cons: nothing here
"This CD is a real bummer!!! It just stinks sooo bad, i can't even get the smell out of my clothes." That's what someone would say if it were opposite day.
song 1: Pantala Naga Pampa
"Pantala naga pampa" means welcome...

Pros: Production, Lyrics, Tightness Cons: Sad tempo for those looking for typical upbeat radio songs
Steve Lillywhite really did an amazing job producing this one. From pantala Naga Pampa (welcome to our home) to the hidden track, (everything will be alright), DMB has done it again. Although some fans call this album dreary and downbeat, i think it is...

Pros: ambitious, creative, captures the real DMB better than their other albums. Cons: a little too undirected, too unfocused at times
Just a little note... this is a revised version of my previous review of this album, I hope I fixed the problems, God Bless!
The style of Before these Crowded Streets is a huge departure from the DMB's previous 2 albums and took a little bit...
