Great music with great topics

by musicc , May 04 '06
Pros: Lyrics, bass lines, the singer, pretty much everything
Cons: none but the songs could be offensive to you
Choking victim is the same band as Leftover Crack. Choking Victim made their album and decided to break up, fifteen minutes later they got back together and changed their name. I’m pretty sure this was their first album. They have gone through a couple ...

Good Times with a Dash of Seriousness

by _anna_ , Sep 13 '04
Pros: Highlights serious social problems on one hand; upbeat and fun on the other.
Cons: If you like the status-quo, you might not like this CD.
[Intro] I've been listening to punk/ska for about as long as I have been listening to electronic music (7 or 8 years). I am passionate about music and I try to be as true and accurate as possible with my music reviews: "Tragedy cries,'We ...

Anti-Corporate Music At It's "High" Point!

by JiggyJay Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, Feb 26 '03
Pros: great songs, bass guitar, Stza, anti-everything attitude
Cons: may offend some...everyone
Whatever you heard me say in my Leftover Crack “Mediocre Generica” review, forget it. Choking Victim is bigger, faster, harder, punker, and more controversial then you can imagine. It makes Grand Theft Auto: Vice City look like Jak and Daxter. It...

Try My Choking Style! HUAH!

by MR_SaturN , Jun 18 '02
Pros: Original concept of skapunk. Chock full of anger.... and Satan!
Cons: Your parents just might kick your a$$ for buying this.
One day I was sitting in an online chat-room, when I randomly played an mp3 by the band Against All Authority. Another chatline netizen noticed my mp3 message, and said that if I enjoyed Against All Authority, I should check out Choking Victim. So, on...

Relief From This F*cked Reality

by skamasterdevin , Feb 22 '06
Pros: Pretty much everything
Cons: VERY offensive
Choking Victim was a ticked-off, political, in your face, Satanic, punk-ska band with a kill everything attitude. With so many fake corporate punk wannabees, Choking Victim were the perfect band to spit in the face of every single one of them. Coming out ...

Satano-Politikal Punk-Ska?

by PezKing , Mar 02 '00
Pros: Heavy, but with good flow, some nice ska as well, occasional bits of humor, very political
Cons: satanic imagery does get kind of obnoxious, they refuse to put a barcode on their albums, so you have to go to an indie store, or mail order
I really like this band despite myself. They have a certain blend of ska and hardcore punk rarely seen. The closest thing I can think of is Against All Authority. While I'm not at all crazy about all the satanic imagery, I can separate fact from fiction,...

You don't have to be choking to become a victim!

by bruise_violet , Feb 14 '01
Pros: Music that invites you in -- hot & sweaty rock n' roll with a message.
Cons: Epitaph took forever getting it out.
I've never read a bad review about these guys. I think even Billy Graham would like 'em. These self-proclaimed disciples of Satano-Politikal Ska are too inspiring to describe. It can be so difficult to praise a band who sings about living the poor...

I'm not Satanic but I'm for this band

by jonnyVgood , Apr 26 '00
Pros: great ska and punk mix
Cons: the cd's back and front covers
Choking victim plays everything from a peppy version of crack rock steady to the death metal of suicide is the better way. Like all of there songs that fall in between. They play mostly a ska punk blend with vocals similar to those of against all...

Original punk-ska, but disturbing lyrics

by jonotrain , Aug 16 '00
Pros: They play excellent punk ska, which is unlike that of any other band
Cons: their lyrics are very disturbing, they play a few metal songs
Choking Victim plays a brand of punk ska all their own. I had never heard anything quite like them before I listened to their cd, which is always a plus for any band. The only downsides to their album is that they have about three metal songs, a type...

Choking Victim

by Satanistic , Jun 25 '00
Pros: satan, crack, death, destruction, humor
Cons: they broke up already
Choking Victim is the one thing this world needs. Not many people (or bands) openly advocate Satanism even though many of us ARE in fact satanic. What could be better than four guys advocating ska, NYC punk, Crack Cocaine, many political views, satanism...

Keepin that Crack Rock Steady beat since 1992

by ilikelobsters , Jul 12 '01
Pros: The best punk CD I've ever heard; strong lyrics!
Cons: the band broke up so they can't make more albums
Before I bought this album all I ever heard was praise for Choking Victim. So I finally went and bought it (it's pretty hard to find but you can get it at Interpunk.com for a good price) and I was completely blown away by how incredible the lyrics were...

No gods/ No managers
by tim_skold ,Dec 10 '06
Pros: Guitar, Bass intros, great songs, overall good album.
Cons: Nothing
The band Choking Victim is a ska/punk band that touches on many topics such as religion, cops, drugs and other things. The album is played very niclely, meaning the members of the band are good musicians.

Most of the songs are pretty good. My most favorites are: 500 Channels, In Hell, Crack Rock Steady, Suicide, In My Grave, and Fu*ked Reality. The other songs are great too, but those ones listed are my very favorites. I really liked the bass intros to some of the songs, and the Ska style guitar throughout the album.

This album was recommended to me by a freind, and so I got it, and I loved it. It did take a few weeks for me to like it, but after that I really really liked it.

I cant think of anything bad about this album.....
