Can George Carlin predict the future?

by knotheadusc Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, Nov 27 '04
Pros: Very funny and eerie. Can extend your lovemaking sessions.
Cons: Many people will find Carlin's humor very offensive. May be depressing to some.
This review may be offensive to some folks... if you're uncomfortable reading about frank sexual situations or irreverent humor you may want to skip it. My husband and I listened to comedian George Carlin's 1999 CD You Are All Diseased ...

This Boy Is BACK In Town!!

by Robtran , Jul 05 '00
Pros: Insightful observations couched in the most hilarious of terms!
Cons: None, nada, nyet, nein, non, nolo, zip, zero, zed.
I will write this under the assumption, dangerous though those may be, that you are not a Carlin fanatic and therefore are in need of a little background information. George Carlin started his career in the late 1950s as a disc jockey. Inspired by Mort...

George Carlin--Shocking in the 60's; Boring in the 00's

by ruff , Mar 13 '00
Pros: Progressive look at modern society.
Cons: A dull hippie throwback complaining about irrelevant subjects to an audience that couldn't care less.
During the Vietnam era, young folks were fighting back against their authority figures: the government, the old family values, and organized religion. Back then, it was easy to rouse the rabble with thoughts of revolution and dirty language. At least,...

Bitter, Cynical and Funny

by rainbow180 , Jun 17 '00
Pros: Great humor
Cons: Not everyone will understand
Anyone who has related to George Carlin in the past will know that Carlin's humor comes from his blunt sarcasm about the things we deal with in everyday life. Sure, he is profane at times, but as he says, "you have to be a realist."

All seven words used here

by seacow Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Mar 24 '01
Pros: covers a variety of subjects
Cons: covers a variety of language
I first became aware of George Carlin via his seven words you can never say on television. I don't recall exactly how, but i led me to buy "Classic Gold," which had the track on it. Recently, when I was looking through a CD store, I saw this album and...

Cynics (and Intellectuals) Rejoice!

by CoolAl27 , Jun 30 '00
Pros: Intelligent, provocative, hilarious material, most anyone can relate and understand it
Cons: Maybe too much swearing for some, or too dirty
George Carlin has always been an amazing comedian with his (in)famous "7 Dirty Words" and some great ideas that if they're implemented, they'd make this country great! George's concentration on words and their usage by Americans is a hilarious...

Simon says "Go F-Yourself!"

by lucidia , Feb 21 '01
Pros: GC is p*ssed off more than ever!
Cons: Absolutely None.
America's favorite p*ssed off cynic has returned to give modern society the enema it deserves. This album, to me, was a perfect compliment to GC's recent book "Brain Droppings". I never was able to see the special because I'm to cheap to get HBO,...

Stop complaining! Carlin tells it like it REALLY is!
by apc53 ,Jul 07 '06
Pros: Sarcastic social commentary!
Cons: Cons? Yeah right!
I love the comedy of George Carlin. If you have never seen or heard anything from him, please download something, or go to the public library and look him up. He is a wonderful comedian.

Carlin's style of unlike anyone elses'. He utilizes social commentary and sarcasm to create some of the funniest stuff you'll ever here. The thing about George Carlin is that some of the things he comments on is true! He just comments on society in a way that most people find offensive. Well, as Carlin would say....IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT...F*CK YOU!
