Pros: Four decent songs, real inspiration on LA Song Cons: Pitiful lyrics, unremarkable vocals and music
Beth Hart is an artist on the edge.
She has yet to prove herself musically, to become popular with mainstream audiences, or to even really breakthrough on any level to radio. Is she untalented? No, Hart is a competent...
Pros: A few stand-out tracks. Cons: More than a few just don't make the grade.
If you read any of my recent reviews, you’ll know that a few people have sent me some stellar mixes in the past few months and a lot of my recent CD purchases have been based on those. Beth Hart’s second album, “Screaming for my Supper” was no exception....
Pros: Blues that rocks, rock that has the blues--this is talent that tips its head back and screams with passion Cons: Some songs ride that yellow line in the middle of the road
Before playing Beth Hart’s sophomore release, Screamin' For My Supper, the casual listener is advised to take the following precautions:
1. Board up all windows to prevent flying glass
2. Tie down any loose objects
3. Strap...
Pros: A few songs are somewhat decent. Cons: The rest of the CD.
When I heard Beth Hart singing her "LA Song" on the radio I thought, wow, here is a woman with a good voice that I can really enjoy. Before the song got overplayed on the radio I went in to my local Best Buy and snatched up a copy, hoping to hear other...
If you like the raunchy sounding strong female voice of Melissa Etheridge, and Sheryl Crow, you will love this CD. My favorite song is 3.L.A. Song (Out of This Town). Give this CD a try. It is well worth it. I can't say much more, unless you hear it...
Pros: The songs are really deep and she puts her whole self into making them Cons: The songs aren't upbeat
Beth Hart's knew album 'Screaming for my Supper,' is by far one of the best female albums of the year. The lyrics make you stop and think and the whole album gets you into this deep mood where you just stop and think about life in general. She has an...
Pros: energizing, sweet, and powerful performance by a new lead in women's rock. Cons: can't think of a single one.
Beth Hart first impressed me with her song Back to L.A. which has been receiving a lot of airplay recently. Her thick, sultry voice gives this song an incredible body not unlike a good wine.
Pros: Raw talent, great lyrics and charisma Cons: She raises the bar (to a dizzying level) for all of the other performers out there.
I caught sight of Beth Hart on HBOs reverb. I was riveted. She was amazing. She was touring in the DC area not to long ago and I decided to catch her on stage. She blew me away. Her live performance was nothing short of brilliant. She's got the pipes,...
Pros: Powerfull voice, Great Lyrics, Just Plain great music.. Cons: Absolutely none...
The very first time I heard "Beth Harts" melodic rhaspy voice on the single "the La Song" I honestly thought I was listening to a Janis Joplin song. Hart sings with such conviction, such power, it sends tingles down my spine. I had...
Pros: listenable and powerful Cons: might not be for everyone
This woman can sing! There is so much passion in her voice and her songs. Her lyrics are very well written and heartfelt. She sings and sometimes screams about heartbreak, hard times and finding her way. There is so much strength and passion in her...
Pros: Great music, cool jacket, marvelous sound Cons: It would have been nice if all of the lyrics were included in the jacket
I received Beth Hart's Screamin for my Supper CD for Christmas, from my husband. He knew that I liked Leavin from L.A. This song was the first I heard of Beth Hart. Well let me tell you, I loved the whole CD. I thought she came from the heart, is...
Pros: Great lyrics, beautiful voice, honest music. Cons: none.
This CD is a must have for any female! If you enjoy the music of Alanis Morrissette, Tori Amos, Melissa Etheridge, or any other strong female singer, this will rock your world. Hart sings down-home, in your face music, with lyrics that will have you...
Pros: Everything about this album earned my respect! Cons: I have no dislikes of this album.
I have always been a huge Janis Joplin fan and until now I couldn't compare anyone to her. Beth Hart has completely blown me away with this album. Her incredible vocals...She can make a scream sound wonderful! All the songs have a very bluesy rock sound to them which is exactly what I am looking for. The only mainstream song is LA Song... I love it but it doesn't compare to most of the other tracks on this album. If you want mainstream pop...this album is not for you...but if you want blues with a rock edge then I highly recommend this album. She is a very talented young lady.
