Pros: It comes from good stock? Cons: Vastly inferior to the source material.
Perhaps this will give you some idea of my opinion of the Nine Inch Nails remix CD, Halo 6: Fixed: I bought my copy in early 1997 and it was defective; about halfway through track 5, the CD locks up and won’t play anymore. In order to listen to track 6, ...
Pros: Really long versions of really great tracks Cons: Not good if you like actual song structure or melody
I know, it's pretty much pointless to review Nine Inch Nails when thevoid99 is floating around, but what the heck, Fixed is inspiring me today, so here goes nothing. Here's thevoid99's...
Pros: Production, Assembly, Guest Producers, Remixes, & Arrangements Cons: Leaves You Wanting For More.
(Note: Originally done on 9/26/00 but now re-edited and extended). When Nine Inch Nails released the Broken EP in late 1992, the record was an instant hit with fans and critics and later went into the top ten album charts in the U.S. ...
Pros: at the price of $6.49, there won't be any dissatisfaction, pure industrial Cons: ??
Many people will say this is a weaker NIN release. I've gotten to the point where I've been stricter in tastes, and that means that a five for this is a good thing. It's even better than The Fragile, Closer To God, or its origins on...
Pros: Awesome hard rock/industrial remixes of good songs from NIN! Cons: Only an EP. Leaves you wishing there was more on the CD.
Nine Inch Nails often makes a CD full of remixes from their other good CD's. Most of them, are full of violent rockish tunes that are loved by NIN fans. But the remixes arn't usually as good as the original song, and the EP of remixes isn't usually worth...
Listening to the opening remix of 'Gave up' you could be forgiven for turning away in disgust and pain. What is this? Why has this song got such an odd rhythm? Why has he broken the vocals up so that they are no longer words but tiny sound bytes glued...
Sure, this might not be the longest album, and it IS a remix album, but this album contains enough new emotion and sound to make it worth the money. The song lyrics are completely ripped, but these tracks still give enough of a new beat to put some life...
This one's always an import.
Why?
Most Americans have extremely poor musical tastes. As does most of the world.
But in foreign lands the mainstream is more forgiving, albeit more fickle as well.
So Fixed shows up, usually as a used...
Pros: Reznor's mix of Hapiness in Slavery, nice packaging Cons: All the other songs on the CD are completely unlistenable
This is complete crap. NIN is awesome don't get me wrong, but this CD is bad. I listen to industrial regularly (KMFDM, Skinny Puppy, Front 142, Funker Vogt, Laibach, ect.)but this just sucks. Reznor's got much better stuff out there (in fact every official release besides this is worth the money). It sounds like a god d@*n jackhammer going of, except slightly lamer. The only listenable track is Reznor's mix of Hapiness in Slavery. Only buy this if you enjoy nonesense like Einsturzende Nuebaten and enjoyed Broken.
