Punk music on Titanic?!?!?!

by kimmyjj , Feb 23 '02
Pros: Punk covers of some movie theme songs that will bring back memories
Cons: singer's voice gets very monotone-ish after the 7th song - you gotta be a fan!
A New Found Glory made the headlines as a punk band when they scored big by getting to open for Blink 182 last year. When I saw them I was impressed with the energy of the lead singer, Jordan Pundik, however his high pitched, unique, monotone...

Is this cover album "good enough"...

by Chris_Billings , Apr 14 '04
Pros: Movie Theme Songs covered the "Pop-Punk" way
Cons: Too short (only 7 Tracks long)
I’m not a real big fan of A New Found Glory, although I enjoy a few of their songs. Several years ago, I was searching for a soundtrack from the movie, The Goonies, but had no luck finding the album (although I found a copy later on). In my ...

Cute pop punk movie themes

by sxejustin , Mar 17 '01
Pros: Fun, poppy punk that will get eighth grade girls to go out with you
Cons: The album concept has been done before, it's pretty light-weight stuff, patterned.
A New Found Glory, eh? Something really bothers me about this band. They're like the pop punk band for teeny boppers who have just gotten past the whole Blink 182 thing. I saw them on MTV, and they're on a major record label... what the hey??? Oh well....

A Funny Take on Movie Music

by KarenZero , Aug 31 '00
Pros: Fun interpretations of classic movie themes...
Cons: May get boring after the 10th listen
This CD-EP is A New Found Glory's take on several classic movie themes, including "The Goonies 'R' Good Enough" (from the 80's classic children's movie The Goonies) and the themes to Never Ending Story, Titanic, Karate Kid 2, Armaggedon, That...

From the Stereo to my Heart

by Zero_Lee , Mar 26 '01
Pros: Creative covers, good variety of songs
Cons: I just wish there were more than 7 songs!
When I first saw the track listing for New Found Glory's "From the Screen to you Stereo", I couldn't help but laugh. All the songs listed held dear places and my heart and scenes from their respective movies flashed through my head. "From the Screen"...

Glorious

by tozzy832 , Jul 27 '02
Pros: Edgy punk sound, Fun, classic, romantic movie songs, Good variety
Cons: For people who don't like covers: these songs sound different!
I bought From the Screen to Your Stereo because my friend had it. She made me listen to it one day and I immediately loved it. The track that won me over was "The Glory of Love", from the Karate Kid Part 2, which is a terribly fun re-do of one of those...

"That thing that New Found Glory Does"

by muddgrl83 , Jan 03 '02
Pros: songs everyone has heard, the guy has a great voice
Cons: too short..coul have had other covers on it
If you like movies and the songs that come from them than you will so like this CD! It is chak-full of good covers. It starts off with "That thing you do" from the movie.."that thing you do" It is a little shorter than the real song but not much.

Finally....a reason to listen to "My Heart Will go on"

by blinkrox87 , Jan 31 '03
Pros: Great, somewhat condensed "punk"
Cons: Great, somewhat condensed "punk"
New Found Glory followed up their album "Nothing Gold Can Stay" with an album totally contrived to revamp old movie theme songs....there should have been way more than 7 but oh well.... they are as follows

1)That Thing You Do: Great rendition...

Not just another cover album

by cus , Dec 12 '00
Pros: great sound quality
Cons: it is a cover album
You may think that cover song albums are often dull, that is exactly what i thought until i heard it and i thought that the band did a fantastic job of recreating these songs into punk style tracks. I think Neverending Story is an awesome song and the...

From the Author to your Screen

by nofxalf311 , Mar 30 '01
Pros: Good Punk Rock
Cons: Some songs sound the same
Ok, for a cover album, of a punk rock band, it is a pretty good album. That Thing you do, which is the first track on the album, is a real good punk song. Some of the other songs are good punk rock songs. In My Heart will Go on, originally performed...

not in my stereo

by stefani5 , Aug 17 '01
Pros: Funny movie interpretation and punk sound
Cons: It's only seven songs long about movies.
When I bought the bands self titled CD, I loved the twelve songs that I could relate too. I thought A New Found Glory was an awesome punk rock band so I wanted to buy all of their CD's. I picked up " From the Stereo to Your Screen" I didn't like it at...
