Pros: Surprisingly good music, very funny lyrics Cons: Sketches are a bit overdone, the humor is often juvenile
It's hard to truly call a comedy album great. Sure, some are thought of that way, even developing legions of fans that quote "you might be a redneck if..." for years, but let's face it - you can only hear the same joke a few times before it just isn't ...

Pros: funny, good musicianship Cons: too much talk not enough rock
I saw Tenacious D on MTV2 about a month ago. I don’t have MTV 2, but my friend does. They were pretty funny. The band consisted of Jack Black and Kyle Gas. I saw High Fidelity about 2 weeks ago. Jack Black was in it, and he was hilarious. Jack Black was...

Pros: Funny Cons: A bit hard to understand, a couple pointless songs/skits.
Do not read if you are offended by swearing or lude sexual comments
Tenacious D started as a mini series on HBO (As far as I know at least) Jack Black is hilarious and i'm amazed by how well he sings. Kyle Gass, the other half of...

Pros: Great rock and folk guitar...very rare clean jokes... "Tribute" and "Wonderboy" Cons: Very strong language, inappropriate sexual and explicit content!
Sadly to say I was once a loyal listening fan of the group "Tenacious D." During high school it was common for my friends and I to slide their first album, that was self titled, into our CD players. We were immune to the cursing and sexually explicit ...

Pros: Jack Black, humor, great song quality Cons: may offend some, humor can be sort of childish, Kyle Gas
At first glance Tenacious D might look like two overweight guys (except Jack Black since hes skinny now) who want to be cool. Heck thats what I thought when I saw them appear on an MTV award show a couple years back. It wasnt until the...

Pros: At times very funny. Music is original and everything is well put together. Cons: Some of the jokes wear thin quickly.
What can I say apart from well done to Jack Black and Kyle Gass. They have done a really good job of producing a comedy rock Cd. If you think about it, this could have fallen into the realms of Sum 41's in song humour, which in the name of dear God is so...

Pros: Finally, an official album produced by The D Cons: An Impossibility when it's The D
First of all - it's Kyle GASS. NOT GAS. Thou shalt not blaspheme the moniker of the almighty.
Ever since I glimpsed the first promo aired by HBO for their new show, produced by Bob Odenkirk and David Cross, titled "Tenacious D: The Greatest...

Pros: Many songs are hard-rocking, creative, and funny. Cons: Many of the songs feel rushed, and many of the skits are not funny.
I've always enjoyed Jack Black, and Tenacious D's skit (skits?) on Saturday Night Live - and they apparently had some HBO spots that I haven't seen. All very entertaining, but I was still surprised when I found out that a full album was on the way....

Pros: Hilarious Skits And Lyrics, Good Music To Boot Cons: Some Jokes Miss The Mark
“So what exactly is Tenacious D?” you may ask. Good question. Tenacious D is sort of a fake comedy band comprised of comedian/actor Jack Black and sidekick Kyle Gass. That, however, is not entirely accurate either, since there is nothing “fake”...

Pros: Funny Cons: Hard to understand at times
In a time when rock music has become too pretentious, one band will come forth to battle the self-rightous medium of music. That band is Tenacious D, and the self-titled album does what those who have seen the "D" in live shows expect. It makes us laugh....

Pros: One of the freshest albums I've heard in a while. Cons: Not enough references to Satan in their songs.
I have a feeling that people either love Tenacious D or they don't. A lot of what they do is predicated on 80s Heavy Metal. If you are familiar with that genre of music, then Tenacious D's style won't be lost on you.
While I have only recently...

Pros: Some fine songs; Jack Black has a great voice; a few good laughs. Cons: Not what this band is all about, and not very funny.
I fell in love with Tenacious D after catching their short-lived HBO series, which ran for ten minutes after the wonderful Mr. Show with Bob & David. It was a hilarious show about two guys, J.B. (Jack Black) and K.G. (Kyle Gass), who played...

Pros: Hysterical arena rock that kicks your derriere and makes you laugh it off, too. Cons: Songs aren't long enough, some sketches fall flat.
From their not-so-humble beginnings on HBO, where they performed half-hour specials following the cult sketch comedy series Mr. Show, Tenacious D had a reputation for kicking out hilarious acoustic jams that blended all the best elements of folk,...

Pros: Great comedy and kickass music. Cons: N/A
My girlfriend is a big fan of these guys(Plus, she thinks Jack Black is sexy.), so, after much coersion, I bought this album. This is one of the most unique albums I've ever heard, and I've heard alot of unique stuff. This album combines kickass heavy...

Pros: Hilarious-as long you're as sick as the rest of us Cons: Humor can't carry everything
If you're like me, you yearn for the days when rock and roll had a more natural sound-when it was smooth, without all that screaming, over-bassed licks, and superficial artists only interested in provided good sex appeal. I always hoped that some...
